it's one of those club type deals where everyone brings in a tub, when all the tubs are gone, an email goes out and everyone brings in another tub.

not that big of a deal i guess, but i do drink an extraordinary amount of coffee.

during the recession there were massive fixed cost crunches, and companies learned how to run lean and cut corners. little ammenities like coffee, over a workforce of 100,000 people, can add up. i'm sure someone ran some project and decided that "hey i dont drink coffee, fuck em, it'll save money". now that "oh we back", it's a "you could run like this before, don't change and we'll make more profit".

that's my hypothesis.

Also, one guy got bitched at for taking a fork from the breakroom. Apparently they are for contractor use only, even though you can get 92348384 free forks from the cafeteria 2 minutes away.
