Biden will be remembered in a positive light. He steered the country in the right direction while facing nonsensical demonization by Trump supporters and a lack of respect from the media. This culminated in an unfair campaign against him after an exaggerated debate, but "unfair" is what is reality, especially in these times.

Ironically, while it was when he started to show significant signs of aging, I really do think this term was when he really came into the progressive but measured force he was meant to be all along. While it is a tremendous career in terms of politicking, I don't personally find his time in the Senate that impressive, but his Presidency will be remembered.

I'm sure it wasn't helpful, though not sure how meaningful it will be given his well-established and long-term propensity for verbal gaffes. He's also not on the ballot anymore. However, it is a distraction and gives Trump and Co. more fodder to avoid their own comments.

I think it's more that he never should have attempted to run for a second term and should have let a competitive process for the best alternative play out.
