The first few seasons are pretty good. I watched all of the seasons but they got worse over time, especially the last couple. I wouldn't not recommend it, but there are better shows too. Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, etc.

Yeah I've seen all of Breaking Bad (watched the first 2-3 on Netflix and rest on-air) and LOVED it. Haven't watched SofA or House of Cards. I have heard good things about both. I'm caught up on Scandal and The Walking Dead....can't wait for premieres this month. I also love Orange is the New Black.

Hmmm....

I felt Breaking Bad is a love it or hate it show.
If you don't get into it pretty early, its not going to grow on you.

House of Cards is good too. Not sure if the 2nd season is out yet, but I watched the 1st season over like a 1 week period.

I started HofC a while back but was doing something during and suddenly realized that it was very political and hard to follow if not fully paying attention. So I will have to restart again sometime.

I also recommend House of Cards. But Hemlock Grove is super fun and ridiculous if you feel like watching something that doesn't require much attention.

Been watching a lot of documentaries lately. This past week, I've watched Central Park Five, The Revisionaries, and Urbanized. I thought they were all really interesting and well done.

Which should I watch first? "House of Cards" or "Sons of Anarchy"?

[Edited on February 7, 2014 at 8:31 PM. Reason : I have recently finished the last season of Dexter, Season 1 of The Following and all of Dr. Who]

HoC is one season so far, SoA is like 5 seasons (not sure how many are on Netflix)

if that helps you decide

Length of Seasons doesn't matter. Dr. Who had 6 or 7 seasons in Netflix. I just wanted to see which one is better. I'll watch that one first.

I dunno. Tough for me to compare a behind-the-scenes political show with a show about gun-running bikers. You can't go wrong either way, imo.

Oh how I wish Netflix would release House of Cards early. Would make being stuck inside the next few days bearable.

Just watched Jack Reacher. Pretty decent for an action film but a little over the top. It felt like Tom Cruise was a video game character given how easily he plowed through any bad guys.

House of Cards is soooo overrated at least on tww.

It only got one emmy and that's because David Fincher was behind the camera.

Award shows have little to do with the actual show/movie/music anymore.

I just think that show got really hyped because of the way it came out and that Kevin Spacey/Fincher were attached to it. It rode that hype into multiple emmy nominations and people thinking it was great just because you could watch the whole thing all at once.

That blogger/reporter chick's whole storyline was absurd. Kevin Spacey hammed it up. There were no stakes at all. Even if there were the show failed at making loss of power feel dangerous. The only character I liked was the drunk.

This is a kind of show that's not meant to have "likable" characters. It's David Fincher... we are ALL flawed somehow. That's why the show is so awesome... the character development is amazing.

But, that's my opinion. I thought that it racks pretty high up there with some of the best. However, we'll see how season 2 goes.

Ugh, banal argument.

That is not what I meant. The drunk was the only character I found interesting. That characters sucked and so did the writing. The antihero genre is dead. This show is just washing up after the tide of Breaking Bad. It is outdated. It sucks.

Maybe Season 2 will be better.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it sucks, there are a bunch of readily apparent flaws in it though and it doesn't measure up to other top tier dramas.

I'm just now watching season one of HoC. I watched 6 yesterday since I wasn't celebrating Valentine's Day . But honestly, i don't have a ton of anxiousness to turn it back on and binge like I have with other shows.

Yea it doesn't suck. I guess what I mean is that it gets too much praise for what it is. If they hired better writers for season 2 I feel like they could turn it around. The rest of the pieces are in place. Good actors and an amazing director.

Prison Break was pretty solid. Got a little slow in Season 3 but had good closure when the series ended in season 4.

On to Burn Notice now, a few episodes in. Pretty entertaining show.

They would probably be appealing to someone who enjoyed Burn Notice. That's not a joke either. They're slick, entertaining, and slightly edgy but with zero potential to really offend anyone. Very enjoyable shows.

Vuze is bloatware. I don't know what that means, but I think it's bad. And I don't watch either of those shows regularly so somebody else needs to chime in, too.

Instant watch movies on Netflix are all pretty fucking horrible right now. You can get a good independent film every now and then...but the value in Netflix now is in their original series and other tv shows.

for example, they recently added Coneheads
