Oh, there is zero chance he would lose. They specifically targeted Democrats and democratically-leaning counties for their "challenges." It's a plain and obvious Equal Protection violation, as the law is being applied unevenly. It's the kind of challenges that were ruled invalid under Bush v Gore, for fuck's sake. Yet the court said "whatevs, he can challenge whoever he wants." It's complete and utter bullshit.

Let's look at the actual questions. There's 3 classes of ballots they wanted to throw out

1) Overseas voters who have never lived in the state. There is an explicit, unambiguous state law that says these voters are to be counted in NC. It's not even fucking close. The court said the law is unconstitutional, because reasons.
2) Military voters and spouses overseas who didn't show ID.. Griffin challenged this before the election. He lost in in the State Elections board and in court. The elections board said these voters don't have to show ID. Federal law doesn't require these voters to show ID. Maybe there's a valid argument, but it's sus as fuck, considering what these voters have to do to even get a ballot. Not only that but these voters were told they didn't need to provide ID by elections officials, and now their votes are being thrown out for following the directions of elections officials. For many of them, there wasn't even a way to provide that ID, for fuck's sake. Either way, the court said "lol, fuck em, because reasons." And Republicans are standing by watching military members have their thrown out.
By the way, Griffin him-fucking-self voted this way in 2019 and 2020.
3) Voters with incomplete info in the state database. This is the biggest category, and also total bullshit. The state passed a law in 2004 requiring this information. It didn't update the fucking voter registration form until 2023 to even allow folks to put this info on the damned form. And then there were clerical errors in putting data into the database, so people may have actually provided the right data, and the state fucked it up. Again, Griffin challenged this class of voters before the election to purge the voter rolls, and both the courts and the Elections Board rejected it. But the kicker? EVERY LAST ONE OF THESE MOTHERFUCKERS SHOWED ID WHEN THEY VOTED. There's no damn question who the fuck they were when they voted. There's no damn question they were allowed to vote. And there's ample federal precedent that people aren't dq-ed from voting due to gov't clerical errors. Yet, here we are.

There would be nothing stopping her team from researching who to DQ right now. I suspect her challenges would be rejected because they were untimely (which, 6 months later, they certainly are). I doubt she would go for it, given her history as a voting rights activist, but it would definitely make a clear point. To be clear, Griffin plainly targeted black voters here. I think I saw that a black voter was twice as likely to have their vote challenged as a white voter.
