except if Gott left him out there with his inability to play defense or rebound, he'd have been excoriated for not playing Abu, who could do both of those things better.

Kyle's main skill was his ability to occasionally provide a quick offensive spurt and sub in for the other bigs when they got into foul trouble.

Doesn't matter if he can once in a blue moon hit hard shots if he gives up dunks on the other end. Even in the Louisville game where he played the best he could, he was a sieve on defense.

If I'm the opposing team, I love when KW is in and Abu and Freeman are out.

Anyway, there's always value to having a warm body in practice, and we are down one now. One less person to push fatass Anya.

^hahah beat me to posting the same thing. Duke went like 7 or 8 deep most of the year. Obviously having the talent they had makes up for lack of depth.

Saw him on highlights at halftime of the State game yesterday. He was having a good game. One of the more confusing things of the Gott era was basically benching him when he was one of our best offensive players.

Yeah, I read something the other day that Cincinnati's defensive efficiency is currently better than the record for the best ever, but Virginia is even better than them. So, yeah they're pretty good.

Oh yeah, that patented Mark Gottfried lockdown defense and offensive flow. I guess he ruined the "have Trevor Lacey shoot every shot" tempo.

Maverick Rowan played worse defense and killed our offense and yet he played >30mpg.

It's pretty clear that Gottfried was terrible at utilizing the talent on his rosters. If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

I mean, technically we DID offer Gary Clark, it was just AFTER he blew up his senior year and had picked up some offers before we started recruiting him(he felt slighted).
