Not really. He's been in the league 5 more years, has started since he was a rookie and has played with actual NFL receivers his entire career.

Still crazy to see the gap in numbers, even though he's played a lot more years

I guess Ladainian stole some of his passes too

Only in the regular season. Come playoffs, Tomlinson always seemed to be stuck on a stationary bike on the sidelines

Vinny T is the only QB ahead of Phil in TD passes not in the HOF (or a future lock)

if Phil finishes top-10 in all major passing stats, he should be a lock, even without any titles. right?

Fucking Chargers. Their D always sucks when the game is on the line. They should have been blitzing the shit out of Vick on that final drive.

At least State prepared him well for this.

Seriously, that's gotta be a gut punch for Rivers. He can't do anything more to help his team win, other than play defense himself.

He did throw a pick 6, although it was arguably the receivers fault.

there are certain times when it's obvious a QB made a bad throw leading to an interception, and others where it's difficult to tell who's fault it is.

timing routes are often times hard to tell at first glance because the QB will throw the ball to where the receiver is supposed to be before the WR actually breaks. If the WR runs a poor route, the ball is not going to be where the WR ends up, and is easily intercepted.

Rivers didn't come through when he needed to (missed Woodhead on 2nd down...he's human after all) but that 3rd down play call sure didn't help him out.

Other than missing wood head on 2nd and goal, that was as close to a flawless QB performance as I've seen.

Considering the O-line, lack of a feature running back, going against a top 7 defense, w/o your top receiver for the 4th quarter, and going against Rodgers for the whole game knowing you have to score...it was pretty fucking bad ass.

it was baller as fuck. but "flawless" isn't the word that comes to mind. his QB rating wasn't even 100. hell, Marcus Mariota's rookie debut was more "flawless" than Phil's game today.

Basically all the good Charger players were either hurt (Weedle, Gates) or benched (Gordon) other than Rivers. Allen is not 100% as well. The Chargers are a so-so team when healthy, they stink when their stars are out. Sucks for Rivers, but he had a chance to bolt, pun intended, and decided to re-up with a moribund franchise.
