Quote : | "As you have probably guessed based on his career history, he is a graduate transfer who will be eligible immediately. He averaged 12.7 points per game for a very bad Aggies team last season. The Aggies actually ranked 349th out of 351 teams in the Pomeroy Ratings, beating exactly one D-I team all year (NC Central, oddly enough).
Hunt had a solid two seasons overall at A&T but his numbers against top-100 KenPom teams are pretty bad, which leads one to wonder just how much he might be able to help the Wolfpack next year. Still, he is a career 34.3% three-point shooter and 91.1% free throw shooter." |

Well, here is what his options really look like.
Pacific - Start. ECU - Start. NC State - Play a few minutes a game depending on who is eligible ahead of him.
I mean I like the move to add some experience at guard, esp with questions looming, but totally understand the kid wanting to play as many minutes as he can his final year.
Though it doesn't sound like Henderson's case is going as smooth as hoped. 5/11/2017 9:59:35 AM |

Yeah I think it's a win for us in adding some depth/experience at gaurd and getting a role player for the late game foul/free throw routine.
If he grew up a State fan (not sure) maybe he would just want to wear the red and white, or say he played in the ACC. Outside of that, he probably won't get a lot of minutes with us as you said.
Or we're missing something C2K is seeing and he fits the system.

yeah it comes down to what he is willing to accept as his role. we can definitely use the depth and experience - especially if Henderson doesn't get his 6th year. if Henderson doesn't get a 6th year, he will definitely be getting plenty of minutes next year. look at alex johnson when he as a grad transfer here...he averaged almost 20 mins/game because we had so few bodies.

The may 24th deadline is prob useless for us. I mean Yurt and Kapita must know they aren't getting drafted. That won't tell us if they will be playing for State next season, though. 5/11/2017 10:29:24 AM |

I had him in mind too. I really miss his toughness and senior leadership. It felt like he had played here the whole time. If Hunt can bring some of that "don't back down" mentality (he played on one of the worst teams in the country so he's had to have seen some shit) and we can use him as a reliable FT shooter in end game scenarios, I say welcome aboard.5/11/2017 11:17:33 AM |

Devon Daniels here today. I'm hearing we're really close on him.
Quote : | "Utah transfer wing Devon Daniels no doubt has heard from a bunch of schools since his decision to leave the Utes program following his freshman season. NC State definitely is in the mix, with Daniels set to visit Raleigh on Monday, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.
Based on Daniels’ on-court production in 2017, his addition is a no-brainer. He averaged 9.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game as a key part of Utah’s rotation. The 6’5, 200-pound wing-forward made 61.8% of his twos as a secondary scorer on the team, and that’s a really impressive number, especially since the kid isn’t huge.
He was not a big three-point shooter—he attempted only 34 all year—but he was effective, knocking down over 41% of those attempts. He also made over 70% of his free throws.
In Pac-12 play, he ranked eighth in effective field goal percentage and 12th in two-point field goal percentage. He also proved a good passer and solid defensive rebounder. The biggest knock on his game at the offensive end would be his propensity for turnovers, but I think we could live with that.
Daniels’ Utah career did not come to a smooth end, which may be the reason he opted to leave. He was suspended for three games late in the season for the classic “conduct detrimental to the team” non-reason reason. When he came back, he played sparingly in the Utes’ last two games, both of which were losses.
Like NC State target Miles Wilson, Daniels will sit out the upcoming season and then have three years of eligibility remaining." |

it definitely didn't originate in the basketball thread
idk, first i remember of it was when Doeren arrived here. is Duke doing a "blue light" i guess? most teams have some kinda team-specific call/signal on twitter when they get a recruit. i think it partly is because coaches aren't allowed to talk about specific recruits until they actually sign. so it's a way to acknowledge a commitment without breaking the rules. 5/16/2017 4:19:31 PM |

Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but Yurt predictably was a star at the NBA Combine. He was the lead photo in this article on NBADraft.net. What a waste of a freshman year
http://www.nbadraft.net/nba-draft-combine-five-more-winners
Quote : | " Freshman year didn't go as planned for the the Turkish native who came to the United States to play in the ACC. But while Yurtseven didn't find his footing at N.C. State until late in the season, he seemed very comfortable scoring and rebounding his area at the Combine.
Making people remember why he was on teams' radars with his play in Chicago, Yurtseven looked like a skilled big man who could become a positive scoring force. With a workable jumper that also could have extended range with added practice, Yurtseven could be an intriguing second-unit scoring big man or starter alongside a true rim protector.
Defensively, Yurtseven is still having issues defending ball screens and switching on quicker players and that will be something to watch for early in his career. Yurtseven told reporters he is looking for any type of guarantee from a team that wants to develop him in order to stay in the draft. " |

Yurtseven has until tomorrow to decide what he's going to do.
Bryce down to us or SC. James Henderson (head guy at Pack Pride) says he thinks he just wants to play out the process/attention but could decide any day. Knows what he'll get with Keatts, but SC is closer to his hometown in Charlotte although I doubt an extra half hour or whatever it is is a dealbreaker. Also said he might visit Gonzaga.
Devon Daniels (Utah transfer) could decide this week. Between us and San Diego State. Said he might visit UNLV.
Bowen likely to DePaul. They hired his high school coach as an assistant and also are trying to hire his AAU coach. They must really fucking want that kid. 5/23/2017 2:27:20 PM |

Kapita and Omer both want to be pros, but I think they've both been told by most that they need to go back to school.
Kapita as 0% chance of being drafted. Omer has better chances but late 2nd would be his ceiling this season. Both could really benefit from another year, esp. with a better coach who can actually develop them.

anyone know what time the deadline is?
Also PP just updated saying Omer is still 50/50 but inquired yesterday about renewing his lease whereas Kapita hasn't. Any announcement on Omer is supposedly coming through the university/Keatts
I think most feel that Omer is going to stay.
James from PP said he thinks Kapita is gone. Makes sense, especially if Omer stays.
