So I posted this on Reddit and got completely shit over - does anyone else think there is only a very slim chance that Walt is dead at the end of the series? I think the only way it works properly as a show is if he doesn't die. He needs to be left alone and with nothing. I think the way it ends is at some point his cancer returns, he does some desperate last minute thing to save Jessie before ending up in jail, expecting to die very soon. Then the last shot of the show is a zoom in on his face as he is told by a prison doctor that his cancer hadn't actually returned. The end. 8/21/2012 8:29:54 PM |

Just caught up on the last two episodes - so Hank referenced the movie "Heat", then they do a heist on a train and Todd kills an innocent kid for being a witness, just like the opening scene in "Heat" (well, not just like, but the parallels are clear) Can't be coincidental, wonder if that means Todd will come back to haunt Walter or Jesse, just like Wayne Groh did Deniro and his crew later in the movie.
And I too loved jesse's awkward as hell water drinking. Had me rollin. 8/22/2012 6:40:14 PM |

Just posted this in the season 4 thread, woops.
This "season" (half season, whatever) has to end with Walt somewhat on top right? My assumption is Walt is on top as far as Heisenberg (has power, money, his empire) but has lost out on everything else that makes him Walt (Jessie, his family), leaving next season to be about his somewhat redemption. Though personally I will be pissed and very surprised if he actually truly redeems himself in the end. 8/26/2012 1:47:18 PM |

let's see, things that piss jesse off:
1. walter lets jane die 2. walter poisons brock 3. walter (possibly temporarily) screws jesse out of his $5 million in retirement money 4. walter starts cooking with todd, despite the fact that he's a child murderer 5. walter kills mike
with mike out of the picture, it looks like things are shaping up for the final 8 episodes to mostly be a walt vs jesse showdown. of course, i could be completely wrong and walt could kill jesse next episode. guess we'll see 8/27/2012 1:07:35 AM |

Maybe I'm being none-too-bright here: why didn't Mike kill Walt (per Breaking Bad universe logic, not Breaking Bad plot logic)? Did he feel like he owed Walt for tipping him off? 8/27/2012 8:36:27 AM |

So two things prophesied in this thread came true.
1) Todd started working with Walt.
2) Walt uses the other guys as his distribution
Walt realizes that this guy is much dumber than Jesse and I think that is why he started with such low standards, asking only that he pays attention and applies himself.
But at the same time I think that is making Walt a little bit happy because he sees how easy it will be to work with the guy as a result. e.g. when walt said lets talk about money the guy just wanted to do a good job and said they could talk money later.
Whats the episode countdown until hank finds out whats going on; there are only 9 left. 8/27/2012 9:41:51 AM |

^^^ I could see something similar in which we expect a full reveal from Skylar, but then it turns out next season she chickens out, but still says something small which triggers suspicion in Hank.
At some point very soon something is going to happen which will push Hank towards Walt and I think that motivation has to come from Skylar. 8/28/2012 10:05:50 AM |
