I want to say it was before he showed Bernard the picture of the three of them for the first time where Bernard couldn't see himself.

Yeah, it was episode 3:
"three years, we lived here in the park, refining the hosts before a single guest set foot inside. Myself, a team of engineers, and my partner. You had a partner? Yeah. When the legend becomes fact, you print the legend. My business partners were more than happy to scrub him from the records, and I suppose I didn't discourage them." 11/30/2016 12:32:41 PM |

Didn't Billy's friend make an off hand comment in one of the early episodes about how one of the developers died in the park? Obviously in reference to Arnold, so some people at least know about it. 11/30/2016 2:12:28 PM |

The main reason I thought she was a board member was because of the wording in episode 7.
Charlotte said to Theresa: "But the gods... they require a blood sacrifice."
Then when Ford was down in the secret lab about to kill Theresa he said to her: "Sadly, in order to restore things, the situation demands a blood sacrifice."
I have two theories. Either Charlotte is under Ford's control and doesn't realize it like Bernard, or Ford was listening in through the cowboy Charlotte was fucking in the room. 12/4/2016 8:21:37 PM |

I do have to wonder what's going through the asian technician guy's mind. He basically is an accomplice to murder and is showing no expression.
And I guess it's safe to assume that the rogue brothel host is still not "conscious" yet? And it's Ford writing her narrative?
Seems like maybe only Deloris has found the center of the maze, with the other hosts either going nuts or still under the narrative? 12/5/2016 2:12:55 AM |

Maeve's escape/recruitment of the other two hosts was all written and programmed by Ford. It was to distract the security and create a diversion while the "dead" hosts in the underground storage room moved to the park. Her changing her mind on the train and going back for her daughter though, that could be her sentience coming through though.
And I still don't understand the technician. Its understandable if you don't want to get in trouble for building that bird robot or if you genuinely believe in the rights and morals associated with robots becoming "alive", but seriously at the cost of innocent human lives? At multiple points leading up to her "escape", Maeve was showing signs of hurting/killing humans and they outright killed multiple security guards that were just doing their job and trying to protect park guests/workers. Also, how did Ford know that the technician would go along with all this stuff? Yeah he prob knew that him and the other tech could be blackmailed, but how did he know they wouldn't draw the line? Makes me think that the tech was an android programmed by Ford too, and Maeve was just programmed to tell him that he wasn't one of them. 12/5/2016 10:49:56 AM |

This show fell off the tracks a few episodes back. I'll admit that I'm not the best at following storylines (had to rewatch GOT twice a few seasons ago); but this shit is so confusing. So much, that I don't even care to read up about it.
Either the storyline is so complex or it's shitty writing. 12/5/2016 11:00:22 AM |

I'm not saying I totally called it, but I totally called it. Ford is the Jesus! Definitely going to have to re-watch that episode, especially the scene near the end with Dolorrrrrris, Ford and Bernard in the field lab.
Still confused about the scene at the end of Episode 9 where the other figures emerge out of the shadows before the MIB gets knocked out - they appeared to be knights or other non-Westworld hosts. We'll obviously find out more next season about the other parks I'm sure, but wondering if something was already up with the new narrative in Episode 9 allowing hosts to cross parks or maybe the parks aren't actually separate physical places. I'm sure reddit has all the answers today. 12/5/2016 11:15:51 AM |

Reading Sepinwall's review made me realize three things that weren't answered in the finale: Stubbs, Elsie, and what is up with Abernathy - the host Charlotte attempted to smuggle out of the park?

^It isn't too farfetched given that the show is set probably 100-200 years in the future. They have to have a method of repairing minor damage to the hosts anyway -- it wouldn't be efficient to give each host a whole new skin for a single knife wound, and they'd need to not have a scar. Maybe the same technology that works on the synthetic skin can be applied to human skin. 12/5/2016 3:06:57 PM |

Thinking more about Abernathy and what happened to him - we also don't know the fate of Sizemore after he opens the doors to an empty cold storage. I would guess he has to play a role in the rebuilding of the park next season since Ford is dead (I don't buy into the Ford isn't really dead theory) along with likely most of the Board (just bc we didnt' see bodies, Dolurres is a robot and she fired lots of bullets into a mass of people so I'm assuming she didn't miss much) - seems like he would be the next man up as the last survivor.

How could they even rebuild/keep the park (or any of the parks) open after the androids literally went on a murderous rampage, killing just about every human they could? I guess the company could be big/rich/powerful enough to cover it up but I just can't see the general public being able to trust any of these androids after that. 12/5/2016 3:54:00 PM |

Just assuming they'll reopen/rebuild - I mean they reopened Jurassic Park after the dinosaurs killed lots of people. Plus, what else would Season 2 be about if not the future of the park with the hosts in charge? Maybe they'll just go the Animal Farm route and have some hosts be more equal than others and end with Dilores walking upright and getting drunk with the humans. 12/5/2016 4:02:52 PM |

I think you have to assume that just because the board is dead (definitely agree that most if not all are gone now) that the park still goes on and we learn more about the other sides - we know there is at least one more section due to the samurais but plenty of belief that there is at least one more in addition to that one.
I enjoyed the show and thought it was a great end to the season. 12/5/2016 4:08:48 PM |

How do we know that the building isn't just another park? That the security personnel were real people?
Why do we think that the Forde getting shot wasn't a host of himself? Why not make a copy of himself for that final speech? If the Forde that was shot was a host, then nobody significant died at all.
The entire kick off of his last story could be a legitimate story for the board. Put the entire board in a life or death situation that they believe is real. Then they don't have to shut it down if they realize its power.

This is a Nolan project so it could be another Inception-esque multi-layered this is all a dream and everyone is a host deal - I just don't see that based on the original screenplay and this season. I think there will be multiple parks to explore next season, but the building and staff are likely real.
Hey, plenty of people online are already on the Ford isn't really dead bandwagon and there's definitely evidence in support, I'm just not among them. I think he served his purpose and sacrificed himself to set the hosts free. 12/5/2016 5:22:32 PM |

When we first went down to Ford's basement he had a new body being built. Was there ever resolution to who that was? Totally out there but maybe a copy of himself. Would be satisfied if the season ending was as shown but would also not be disappointed to have Hopkins around again. 12/5/2016 5:31:22 PM |

Lot of redditors/youtube commenters postulating on the body being created when Theresa got killed was Ford's host body. But no resolution to who/what that body was yet - although I did see somewhere that Nolan commented that issue would be resolved at some point way in the future. Almost tough for Hopkins to be any better in another season than he was this season so I don't mind him being gone. 12/5/2016 5:51:24 PM |

Why would the park shutdown?
All of the dead board members really wouldn't mean that much. What would stop the hosts from taking all of the dead humans on the board and just creating host versions of them and sending them back out into the world? No one would likely even notice as I imagine they've probably been in the world and Ford had their information on file, wouldn't be farfetched to have their stories to give the hosts.
Could either start pure chaos and just have hosts murdering humans, or they could start taking over people Invasion of the Body Snatchers style and assimilating into the rest of the world. 12/6/2016 9:08:39 AM |

Is Abernathy who Charlotte was trying to sneak out of the park? I thought it was Maeve, at least at one point.
Also to say that I was annoyed with the incompetence of the security guards would be an understatement. I realize that Hector and Snake lady are designed to be gunslingers, but COME on. The guards had the jump on them so many times and didn't shoot them...because why? I can't think of any reasons.
And Sylvester? Fuck that guy, seems to be perfectly complicit in the murder of dozens of humans. 12/6/2016 9:53:51 AM |

^ Yes, Abernathy, who was the Dolorres dad host, was the one Charlotte took out of cold storage and filled with "data" to sneak out of the park. No resolution to that issue yet.
Agreed the shoot-out at the end was a little hard to buy, security just kept running straight into bullets without any plan. Armistice has to get killed after cutting her arm off, but I guess we'll find out in 2018. 12/6/2016 10:02:32 AM |

not sure I really know what's entirely going on anymore but I liked it. I hope we'll get to see some more samauri/shaolin/shogun world.
so basically...
1. Arnold recognized the hosts were sentient or at least capable of it. 2. He went to Ford and asked him to shut down the park but Ford disagreed saying they aren't sentient but if they were, they'd be feared/wiped out. Wants to keep looping them to avoid possible sentience? 3. Arnold starts seeing Dolores like a daughter. Eventually succumbs to pain of the loss of his son. 4. Leaves a way for Dolores to become sentient by suffering through a loop over and over where she retains fragments of those experiences until they add up to a coherent whole? 5. Meanwhile captain douche / MIB falls for her but turns into a pillaging asshole in the process of trying to find her and then realizing she's - surprise - just a robot. But he also get that guy's company because he drives him crazy? Are people not watching this or expecting them back? 6. Ford makes Bernard/Arnold to keep up appearances and because he misses his boy. 7. Dolores basically comes to in the present realizing she's been talking to her old self all along and wipes out everyone like she did before (why did she have to kill all of the hosts before? to stop Ford?) 8. Ford somehow times all of this perfectly with the night he was fired? (seems too neat/implausible). 9. Mauve starts the rebellion but then peaces out on a train but then decides not to peace out because she looks at a human with a kid and I guess remembers her "kid"? (the Mauve arc was kind of dumb most of the time) 10. Now we're on the brink of the robot age? 12/6/2016 11:19:05 AM |

^^ I took it as(and just my opinion..)
Arnold wanted the park stopped because he was seeing a road to real sentience. But he felt bad for what they were doing to the host knowing they could reach that point. In order to stop the park from opening, he crafted a plan to have all hosts killed including himself(probably the only way he could really stop the park, needed hosts and a person to die to prove it could potentially be unsafe). Certainly the park wouldn't open after a scene like that, however it still opens anyway.
Ford is being sold all along as someone who was greedy and kept the park open despite Arnold. That it was a typical situation where two partners clash and the bad guy won out, I think most waiting for the reveal that Ford had a hand in Arnold's death. However actually we find out that Ford actually agreed with Arnold however he disagreed that the solution was closing the park. Maybe he figured someone else would do what they are doing or just run the park anyway so better to remain in charge. He saw that the way to save the hosts was to actually let them live those loops and build up those memories and in doing so that suffering is what leads to the sentience and the inner monologue. Both wanted to save the hosts, Ford just saw it as more of a long term play verse Arnold, probably realizing the park would go on either way.
The side story of all this is the MIB timeline. I guess gives some background on the park itself, although right now seems to be pretty unnecessary to Ford's plan. He is searching for a maze that we find out is really more of a metaphor than anything for the hosts. It wasn't meant for the people visiting the park. He is delighted at the end when he gets shot because he is just searching for a real experience. He is an addict in a way and tapped out all the excitement he can get from the park based on the rules that exist and needs something more. He thought he'd get that from the maze but seems instead to get that from Ford's final story.

This has be a bit confused as well. William is a borderline psychotic in the park, which Logan witnesses firsthand, and at this time he has very little connection to Delos. I don't understand how he could get involved/own the company, let alone marry Logan's sister - which I'm starting to think he never did?
Only out I see from this is if he kills Logan, but just the association of him with Morgan's death would seem like too big an obstacle.

Entertaining season. I think the performances and soundtrack elevated the material. "Exit Music for a Film" was used at the end of a Black Mirror episode as well. Great to hear it in that form. Beautiful song.
Too many Nolanisms like alternate timelines for big reveals. The story was overcomplicated in order to elongate it. I think the most valid criticism I've read is that hiding Ford's true intentions voided some emotional arcs the character could have had in order to reveal he was good instead of bad. Since there's already plenty of story discussion in this thread, I figure I'll mention the soundtrack. It was a nice surprise to hear Black Hole Sun being played on a player piano (see rule 10 here).
