"Thompson told troopers he dropped his phone on the floorboard of his 2016 Chevrolet SUV and reached down to pick it up, causing him to cross the center line. Boone, driving a 2004 Lexus SUV, swerved left to avoid Thompson. But Thompson pulled back toward the right, and the two collided head-on, according to the incident report."

Boone has hand and hip injuries from the collision, but Thompson who just had to have his phone in his hand at 7:45 in the morning was able to make it to Tolbert's golf tournament that afternoon.

Man, every little glimpse I get of Butler leave me super impressed. The way he moves for a dude of his size is just unreal. He might be the most athletically gifted d-linemen on our roster. Still can't believe we got him at 30....

Shaq did something extremely dumb, but Boone wasn't wearing a seatbelt which is also extremely dumb. He stood a much better chance of avoiding a broken pelvis had he been strapped in.

I'm surprised butler was available that late too.

It seems like gm are willing to spend an absolute nutload on dt in free agency like suh, jackson, etc but they still slip late in the draft even though they are more of a sure thing in the draft.

Whereas they'll take an absolute project de or an iffy Quinton coples type guy early every time

He was there at 30 because he played at Louisiana Tech instead of Louisiana State.

wonder if we would've taken Nkemdiche if the Cardinals hadn't. Or if he was too much of a thug for Big Cat.

I'm guessing we would have passed. If Big Cat had softened up over the years, Hardy was a good reminder to him I would think...

Speaking of hardy. I wonder if we start out 3-2 and our super bowl aspirations are on the line because our pass rush is lacking and our secondary stinks... if we could just sliiiiiide #95 in there

Whoops was thinking about that coordinator who kept saying the panthers were gonna be in trouble whenever "big Ninety Five" got in against us in the super bowl. He was right, fuck that guy whoever he was.

Chiefs maybe?

First episode of Cam's show. It was surprisingly good, and Cam's a natural.

He's gotten pretty bad in pass protection he kept getting overpowered and pushed into cam last year. May have been injured not sure.

He's good at calling out protections though and centers have gotten expensive now that everyone is passing so much. Not a bad deal. Should give us some flexibility next season.

Starting to think we might be moving on from short. I hope we make him play out the franchise tag. Still wish we'd done that with norman, I don't like what I've read about these rookie corners

3 yrs $21.6m, 9my guaranteed.

Not sure how I feel about it. I don't hate it. It's not a bad price if he maintains his level of play. I don't think we should spend a lot of money on the ol with cam back there so on that level i like locking up below avg linemen to below avg contracts

The dude arguably made the two biggest offensive plays of our Super Bowl run, I'm looking forward to see how he fits in this year with a much deeper group of WRs.

I remember that he should be at best 4th or 5th on the depth chart and he sucks at returns.

The coaches seem to really like Stephen Hill, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him be on the 2 deep instead of Brown. So that's likely Benjamin, Funchess, Ginn and Hill ahead of him. If somebody like Damiere Byrd shows he can be a weapon in the return game, watch out Philly!

[Edited on July 28, 2016 at 8:23 PM. Reason : If by fine you mean he's a marginal NFL WR, then yes he's fine.]

^ agree. Its probably Hill's last chance to stick with a team before he hits the perpetual 'Free Agent hot potato' stage of his career - so hopefully he will show up. Brown is a solid keeper for WR/KR depth - which will be very nice to have this year.

[Edited on July 28, 2016 at 8:43 PM. Reason : added skraight thuggish shot of Hill]

most of the reporters who cover the Panthers think Brown will take over Cotchery's role. but it's still early.

The reports on Hill last year before the season were really eye-opening. I thought he'd never make the team, but they were talking about him being 2nd string and fighting for a starting spot. He definitely has all the physical tools, just never seemed to put it together and displayed some bad hands previously.

Will be interesting to see how he comes back from the injury, but if he gets back to where he was last year, no way he's cut based on how much the coaches raved about him and how cheap he is.

Just wanted to make a bold statement so you guys had something to quote me on all year.

I could see us carrying 6 wr this year. For not having any top line wr talent we definitely have good depth. I'm interested to see how the all size lineup of benjamin, funchess, Olsen plays out.

With cam throwing lasers now these are gonna be really tough match ups for people who have smaller secondaries.

I think our offense will roll this year but I'm still worried about our DE production and we might have a bottom 5 secondary
