I really have no idea what to expect this year outta basketball with the new coach and a lot of new faces. I am expecting some growing pains but maybe our new style can give people fits early in ACC play when they are used to us just giving them the old OLE' most of the time

^ I agree that it's fucked up the NCAA couldn't see the context of the situation and rule accordingly. But the rule is pretty straightforward as far as being enrolled in classes before transferring, right? Attending practice or not is not part of the rule. I get it, and that should be taken into consideration but I'm not surprised by his appeal getting denied

Yea but from what I'm reading, the transfer rule only applies it you were enrolled for a semester with a full load, summer class shouldn't count, yet it did?

Looks to me like your excerpt is describing post-transfer requirements to establish academic residence at a new school. Maybe somewhere it says your academic residence is established immediately once you start taking classes at your first school.

I mean they looked about as expected. Played hard, shooting not great. Yurt looked good on D but still a little stiff on O and he got 4 fouls (maybe 5 don't remember). Not much explosiveness in frontcourt without Abu. Batts looked like he had the tools but raw.

Also you can kinda see after made baskets, lots of pressing and trapping. They pressed us some late though and caused some bad turnovers.

Oh Keatts is entertaining, on def rebounds/turnovers he yells GO GO GO like every possession

Also this has nothing to do with basketball really but Batts looks goofy as hell for some reason, it's like he hit a hard growth spurt and has too much arms and legs. They just seem to move to much when he runs, hard to explain. Should be fun to watch

Wow haven't heard about Mars Hill since I got a letter from them to think about playing on their basketball team. It wasn't a personal recruiting letter but it was one that a lot of seniors who had decided not to play basketball in college received. One of my boys went to their Gymboree but ended up playing at Guilford. I can't believe they are d2 now. Coming up in the world. They were desperately looking for students and would have let us have a shot at making the team just to get us enrolled.
