I did not, however I did represent during the HR intro when the presenter asked "Is anybody here not a fan of the team and willing to admit it?" I had my hand up halfway before he finished his sentence. Pack Pride behind enemy lines!

PM me if interested. Pay is DOE, and you get opportunities to make an extra $500 for 6 hours of "work" on a saturday or sunday.... I am a whore and thus pulled in an extra 30k last year in weekend/holiday work, but the average team member pulls in about 15k in extra pay.

It's really a great place to dive deep technically and the opportunities for career growth are HUGE within Cisco and outside of Cisco, based on the experience you will gain here. Recent team members have moved on to be Network Consulting Engineers, Test Engineers, Google Network Engineers, ISP Network Engineers ... you name it.

More than anything else, we are looking for people with great troubleshooting skills based on mastery of core networking fundamentals. You can learn everything else as you ramp up during the first year.

Anybody looking for work around Chapel Hill? My department is going to be hiring a classroom support position which we just found out about and will be posted in the next couple weeks. A lot of the job is PC support for 40+ classrooms in the classroom support center. We do a majority of our stuff remotely, but some in room work and support. A good all around knowledge of audio-visual equipment, projectors, amps, bulb replacement, PC software, and stuff like that. This is probably going to target somebody fresh out of college with little experience, or maybe just somebody out of work, because it will be hired at the contributing level. Realistically it will be the entry level position, so salary will likely not exceed $32k. Its a pretty laid back group that works really well together, and you would be working with 3-5 others in operations. PM if interested, and I will post the link later when it gets submitted.

Anecdotally, I suppose it's in line with number I've seen.

Overall unemployment rate may be approaching 10%, but the unemployment rate for those with 4 year degrees is ~2%. I'd imagine for highly technically skilled folks it's close to zero.

Even the emp. I let go a month ago found a new job in less than 2 weeks. probably getting paid more.

You would think that finding someone with experience/skills willing to work in RTP for Cisco in the 85k-100k range would be easier than it is

I have an opening that should be approved within a week or so as well as my peer manager who already has one.

Lots of good jobs open in RTP at Cisco right now.

Here's one for someone with Email related experience ... Email Security Appliance ... entry level is OK for this one.
