The Marvin Austin thing with him alerting people of his travel plans via Twitter alerted the NCAA to the entire situation. It makes sense to start hearing about any discipline coming his way first. Hopefully now that they've gotten to Chapel Hill it can expand to other players and they can go after Butch, Blake and the program. The fact that they came in when the coaching staff was gone on vacation seems like it could've been planned if they wanted to get into the program's inner-workings without any interference.

I get the general sentiment....not trying to be dense here, just wondering what the sudden burst of excitement was for this afternoon specifically.

I was starting to actually feel sorry for UNC this past weekend, then I read some of the arrogant comments from InsideCarolina and again hope for the "death penalty"

Part of me wants to see all those players suspended and the program given the death penalty which then spreads to other sports. But part of me wants to see those players play and do well and then have State shatter their dreams of a national championship when we beat them again this year.

Its about 99.9999999% the first part though.

I heard on the radio this morning that Austin was going as far as CHARGING agents to meet with him. He didnt pay agents to meet with them, no he told them that there was a fee that they had to pay before they could meet with him. What a fucking moron

Also they mentioned that there wasnt just one trip to Miami, but multiple that they are investigating. This is getting so good. One bad thing is they said that the investigation was down to two main players, Austin and I guess someone else - I was assuming they meant within UNC's program and didnt mean Weslye Saunders

And I don't know how much stock I put into that Greg Barnes post on Inside Carolina last night, I do believe that Austin and Little are the focal points but I think there is way too much going on in that program for the NCAA to ignore. Also I expect that they put out that post last night to keep the boards positive, they've been deleting posts and banning anyone who even doubts that the program is squeaky clean. All I know for sure is that Carolina fans fucking hate being ribbed over this and I'm making sure I ask them about it every chance I get

This is what I was afraid of amidst the Marvin Austin celebration yesterday. Austin will be out, little might have to sit a game or two and UNC will be praised in the Media for handling their business and being open and honest w/NCAA compliance.

We've heard from different sources they've been compiling evidence for awhile. So they finally get everything together and talk to the players. This was all last week. It seems like this week they are just weighing the options on what to do, and how to do it. It's looking like the guillotine will be spared.

3 years, 56 tackles (only counting solo not the BS assists) and 9 sacks isn't that impressive. Why would we be excited that a mediocre defensive tackle is going to be suspended? The best possible thing that could come of this is the firing of Blake, he is the sole reason that they have a hyped defense.

V I just don't think he's as good as advertised. I know that a DT primary responsibility is not to make tackles but to keep OL off of the LBs. I would be much happier if this investigation was on Quinn, Carter, or Sturdivant.

After all the initial excitement, it doesn't seem like much will come of this. It looks like, at the worst, Austin MIGHT be gone for the whole year and with one or two other players being suspended for a game or two (probably just one...looking like Little).

Best case scenario for UNC fans (other than nothing at all happening), would be a couple game suspension for Austin.

Kind of disappointing.
