That might have been Cam's worst game in the NFL.
Obviously shitty OL and a few drops didn't help matters. But he played awful. Very little touch on his passes. 10/31/2014 8:30:32 AM

as much as I hate Cutler, he's never thrown 3 first half INTs in his 9 year career
nevermind. he threw 3 first half INTs against the Packers on Sept 13, 2009
[Edited on November 10, 2014 at 10:15 PM. Reason : however, on 10/24/10 he did throw 4 second-half INTs]

Pay cuts are part of the game though. It happens to everyone. But yea, point being, "post her when the carolina panthers suck, as a team"
^imagine if every TWW user's golden boy RW didn't have an elite defense, elite offensive line and elite running back.

I can't complain about how Cam has played today. Obviously it wasn't perfect, but clearly he's playing a better team than the Panthers and both the offense and defense had some critical mistakes.
We had our chances but I think the team is still too young and mistake prone to be a contender. 1/10/2015 11:17:50 PM

newton played fine. that won't keep folks from trying to blame him, of course. but QB play is not the problem for this team. seattle is a damn buzz saw. and they played great today. oh well. 1/10/2015 11:42:05 PM

He certainly didn't do much to help his team win. That last interception in the red zone was all on Cam.
But at the same time, his receivers didn't do much to catch some of the perfectly catchable passes he slung their way.
I felt like the defense was the shining star last night, right up until they felt the game was out of reach and stopped putting the effort in to keep it close. 1/11/2015 10:06:54 AM

definitely.
considering the game was at seattle, i thought newton played almost as well as you could've hoped. the last INT was bad (they said Bersin was the #1 target but he fell down). and really, the game was pretty likely over at that point anyways. 1/11/2015 10:18:52 AM

Good article comparing Cam and RW. In one less year, RW is already a better NFL qb than Cam. I think that is due to Wilson's humility and game prep, which Cam will never have. I don't think Cam is disciplined enough to lead the Panthers to a super bowl win, but on the other hand, the Panthers can't afford anybody better.

RW's definitely better. I don't think you'll get any argument. But the "humility" and "disciplined" stuff, I just don't know about. That seems like a cheap argument to me. I don't think any of us, as fans, are in a position to say that Newton doesn't have the discipline or humility to elevate his game to that next level. He has a lot of room for improvement. But i dont really buy the argument that it's due to lack of humility or intelligence or whatever. 1/11/2015 1:19:41 PM

TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148794 Posts user info edit post |
The only time Cam had as good of a defense as RW has had his entire career, he led the team to a 12-4 record. RW has never been asked to carry his team. He's not even asked to carry his team on offense. Maybe Cam shouldn't have been asked to carry a team. But that's what happens when you go first overall to a 2-14 team instead of getting drafted by a team that made the playoffs the year before. He's basically a more athletic, slightly blacker Trent Dilfer. 1/11/2015 1:49:06 PM

You're right, I don't personally know Cam Newton. Celebrating every first down run with cocky arm gesture /= humility Throwing off of back foot when not being hurried /= discipline RW has the better defense. I'll give him that. Both teams have mediocre O-lines and average receivers. 1/11/2015 2:00:12 PM
