Shepherd missed on one hit that he was robbed of to the CF wall, and one he was robbed of down the 3rd base line in the 8th that could've put State either in front comfortably, or in front late in the game.

Then the defense/bullpen botches everything in the bottom of the 8th. Pretty classic State. Team has slumped pretty badly down the stretch, bullpen isn't very deep, and the starting pitching is wildly inconsistent.

It would be nice if, during this Wake/Louisville game, they would quit talking about Carolina for five seconds. Mike Fox is even in with the commentators. UNC deserves this, that. They are not in the tournament; get over it and focus on the teams that made it. So damn annoying.

^ Chris Williams is a 5th year senior and presumably was available since he hasn't pitched since last Friday yeah, that would have probably been terrible too. just tired of seeing Tommy trotted out there with seemingly the same result most times.

unfortunately, our relievers have mostly sucked this year outside of Gilbert & Orwig

Williams has a 1.93 ERA why not him? That's still not the point. Point is we were all worried as shit soon as DeJuneaus came in. If you weren't, then you don't follow Wolfpack baseball. Players are hitting .302 off him with his 6+ ERA plus his control is very often sketchy.

I just don't understand why Avent keeps going to DeJuneas in high leverage situations late in close games.

Off the top of my head, he was the pitcher that:
- Blew a 9th inning lead against ND that led to a loss in extras.
- Lost the 3rd game of the Duke series in the 9th.
- Lost the 3rd game of the Clemson series the 9th.
- Lost the game in the 9th against Miami.

^4 yeah his ERA looks good, but most of his innings have come in mop-up duty. he's pitched decent in the majority of his appearances (even most of the handful he's had against quality competition) but probably not the best time to bring him in either when I was just complaining about Tommy not being able to handle pressure situations.

03 was in Wilson since the Doak was being renovated.
08, 12, and 13 were at Doak.

Didn't host before then because the athletic department wouldn't put money into baseball to host. That's why Tanner left for South Carolina.

Are at-large teams able to be seeded with same-conference hosts? As in, is there any chance UNC would play in our bracket, or are they more likely to be shipped off to Vanderbilt, SCar, or farther?

^Usually they try not to but with 13 hosts from two conferences, it will be harder.

Ryan Williamson is done for the year and needs TJ. Big hit to the rotation. He started twice after his injury.

There can't be two teams from the same conference in the same regional and if two regionals are won by the #1 seeds, the resulting super regional can't be between conference foes. If UNC-CH makes it, they have to be placed in one of the non-ACC regionals and our regional can't be paired with another ACC host.
