No, man. This was not a normal election. We did not have civil disagreements on minor policy disputes. We've slowly built up the largest and most destructive government for decades. We've created the largest surveillance state known to mankind, have the highest levels of incarceration on the planet, have the largest military that the planet has ever known, and have systematically stripped average Americans of their due process. And we just gave all of that to a madman who is now surrounding himself with members of the radical right who openly fan the flames of racial hatred and hyper masculinity (a message that is being received to a rabid base of gun owners, by the way).

The left is starting to use the term "conspiracy theory" as a broad brush to avoid discussing very reasonable issues.
Alex Jones talking about the government poisoning frogs or whatever the hell it was is a conspiracy theory and should be dismissed as such.
George Soros manipulating currencies and funding very questionable groups for political influence is not a conspiracy, it's fact. 11/14/2016 1:41:27 PM |

Trump basically said he's going to keep letting his kids run the business and he's asserting there's no conflict of interest. There will be no divestment or meaningful separation.
Media is completely befuddled by this (as with everything trump says/does) so it'll take them a few days to try and understand the laws/precedents/impact of the unprecedented scale of this conflict of interest.11/14/2016 1:48:28 PM |

Aren't Trump's kids some of his most trusted advisors? If you want your trusted advisors to advise you, they would need to know on what to advise you.
And, on the topic of security clearances, anyone who has never held a government security clearance and supported the Queen of Security Violations doesn't have any credibility in a discussion of security clearances.

Again, the only people to ever be charged with a crime related to mishandling of classified information actually did way worse. Petraeus, for example, took information he received at a high level briefing in a SCIF and handed it to his mistress. He was only charged with a misdemeanor. Nothing Clinton had on her email server originated from an SCI access control system. So actually, yes, plenty of people did way worse than what Clinton did as Sec State. What she did barely qualifies as a policy violation, let alone a crime. You've basically proven you're a liar who actually knows dick all about government security clearances. 11/14/2016 8:39:42 PM |

If there was anyone guilty of "unintentional disclosure", it wouldn't be Clinton. It would be whoever originally authored the email with classified information and sent it to her account. Remember, the primate email server thing is a red herring, having SCI on an @state.gov account would be no better. We know from the FBI investigation that she never actually authored an email with information originating from an SCI access control system. Comey, for as much as he fucked up, had it right when he said that the decision to not recommend an indictment was "not a cliff-hanger". They didn't have squat. 11/14/2016 8:53:56 PM |

again, I've seen the NDA's. there is an explicit warning of "unintentional" disclosure...meaning intent doesn't matter
and the reason why "gross negligence" exists is when a person doesn't have intent, but the violation is so egregious that it cannot be ignored
and I just don't believe there was no "intent" with the emails we have seen (claims of her telling Huma to remove the class markings and then print, claims of her telling her maid to print)
there was definitely intent to set up the server and use it as her email while SecState...that there is intent...how could she, being the SecState and knowing the classification of information she was going to receive, not think people (staff, POTUS) would not send her classified information
again...I'm not expert in classi......nevermind 11/14/2016 9:15:46 PM |

^^Dude, what you're talking about isn't some secret statute that only people with clearances are privy to. It's right here,
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/798
so you can drop your "trust me, I'm an expert" act, you haven't demonstrated knowledge of anything that isn't publically available. You're also grossly misrepresenting the facts. There's no evidence that any SCI was "disclosed" to anyone without the requisite clearances. The State Department itself has already proven, with records, that the specific instance you're talking about was not a violation.
As for the email server, while it may be evidence of intent to circumvent FOIA, it's certainly not evidence of intent to mishandle classified information. You can't send/receive SCI on an @state.gov account either. Again, it was a red herring and only used as a talking point by the right to make the whole thing sound shadier than it was. Hell, the official @state.gov system was actually hacked, her server never was.

I'm giving him some credit, I said "maybe he knows this".
But this is the MO of a bully that Trump has, he manipulates other peoples indulgence of social norms ("give him some credit", "wait and see", "maybe he's joking") to push his viewpoint, but does not indulge other people the same way, and this is how he gains ground. He did it through the primaries and election. It's the literal "give someone an inch, they take a mile". He's even specifically said a few times that if someone gives him grief, he gives it back 10x worse, which is what he did with Cruz's wife, or the "lock her up" rhetoric (scorched earth strategy).
If you want to see Trump continue to get his way, let him manipulate your innate sense of fairness, but based on the past 15 months, Trump is manipulating people.
The problem is this isn't a sustainable strategy, especially on the international level, where retaliation could be deadly or costly.
