i got a question about the radius on tinder. it's probably been answered before...

but let's say i have my distance set to 20 miles. and somebody shows up that is 20 miles away. am i necessarily visible to them or could that person have their radius set to less than 20, and I would even shouldn't up on theirs?

Pretty sure you'd show up. I flipped through some people last time I was out of town, and when I was back in town, I had people show up that were like 200 miles away, even though my radius isn't that wide.

so i started chatting w/ this girl that's a first-year in my school's MPH program early this week and we're talking a lot about music, so i invite her to see cold war kids friday (last night). the next day i get a new match and one of the things we have in common is cold war kids. she messages me and asks if i'm going friday, i say yes, we chat for a minute and she suggests we meet up at the show. at this point i noticed that she's also doing an MPH, so i figure that these girls could definitely know each other, so i play it safe and tell her that i'm going w/ a lady.

she mentioned at some point that her class was only 10 people. after the show she said some of her friends were around if i wanted to get drinks w/ them with a kind of weird half-smirk. i asked her if one of them was cassandra, figuring that she had actually gone to the show and that at some point during the week they had spoken about it. she then explained that cassandra was not at the show at all, but was her roommate and was one of the people coming downtown, and that she right-swiped b/c she recognized me and they wanted to fuck w/ me.

it actually worked out great for me, b/c i impressed her w/ my response initially and by figuring it out.

My age range (for dating in general) is 29 (and that is pushing it) to 41/42. But I find if you run out of matches and then switch the ages up a little bit Tinder magically finds a bunch of other people for you to swipe (that were in your original range).
