Olsen hurt, eh? Almost like Gettleman was smart for not wanting to hand an extension to a 33 year old with chronic ankle problems. 9/17/2017 2:30:56 PM |

McCaffrey in the end zone too. From tip to tip though, Cam looked better this week than last. The guy basically didn't practice all offseason so as long as the trajectory continues in an upwards direction I'm not worried. He actually looked his best on that last drive until the final pass he missed.

Jack Tocho working out for the Panthers. Go Pack? http://nfltraderumors.co/nfl-notes-49ers-bengals-packers-panthers/
Apparently he's moved from CB to FS since college. Was 7th round pick for the Vikes, looked good in camp, had surprisingly great measurables at the combine, obviously likeable and from the Charlotte area. Will be interesting to see if he makes it. I thought he was much better at State than people gave him credit for. 9/19/2017 3:15:37 PM |

I haven't been terribly impressed by McCaffrey either as a runner. As a slot receiver though? He's already the best one on our roster. He'll be on the Patriots in a few years breaking Wes Welker's receiving records.

4.54 was his time, which is decent for a DB. Faster than both Munnerlyn and Worley. Faster than the first safety off the board this year, Jamal Adams IIRC.
Tocho seems to play slower than those guys though. It's a moot point anyway; he resigned with the Vikes 9/20/2017 11:38:17 AM |

Not a good look, especially on offense. Olsen, KB and two starting o-linemen out has crippled this offense. We were lucky to hold them to a FG on that last drive too after letting them run all over us. I don't see us winning this short of a total collapse by the Saints offense and some special teams mistakes.
Hate to say but I think it's time to rewind the clock on offense and bring back a lot heavy option plays. Cam's legs seem fine and we need to get the running backs in space.

Only if you're grading him purely as a runner. As a receiver he's Wes Welker 2.0.
Hell, he's easily been the best player on the field for us today, offense or defense.

Shrike All American 9594 Posts user info edit post |
I will continue to "stan" for the only GM to win consecutive NFC South championships and most consistent stretch of good football this franchise has ever seen. He did so while simultaneously bringing us out of the worst cap situation in the entire league. Firing him while keeping Shula will go down as the dumbest decision this franchise has ever made.
The fact that you people are making conclusive declarations on draft picks and FAs after 3 games shows you really have no clue how this league works.

you made a conclusive declaration about this season being awful before the goddamned preason, for fucks sake
Kalil has a history of being bad, and he’s been bad so far 9/24/2017 3:50:36 PM |

By core, you mean what, 3 players? Cam, Kuechly, and Olsen? There are plenty of teams with 3 good players that never go anywhere. Having a good "core" means dick in a league with a 53 man roster. Gettleman's draft picks and roster moves were critical to run that of success, especially the Super Bowl run. Continue to downplay him, you'll see as we continue to go downhill over the next few seasons.
Also I'd love to be wrong about this season, but we're about 3 inches away from being 1-2 against a cupcake schedule. 6-8 wins looks to be about our ceiling right now. To win in this league you need a good owner, strong FO, coach and QB. We have at most 2 of those right now depending how you feel about Rivera.

Gettleman was the key. It's all over now. Seriously.
And McCaffrey is a bad running back. That much is obvious. Zero vision and he's too small/slow.
An RB should come into the league and thrive if he's good. He's not a QB, how many games do we really need to wait to realize he was not worth a top 10 pick? 9/24/2017 5:09:07 PM |

^^Pick whatever number you like (I regret leaving off TD) but the point remains, a handful of top 10 picks doesn't make a winning roster. Otherwise the Browns, Jets and Bucs would be burgeoning dynasties by now. When did the Raiders finally turn it around? When they stopped fucking around and hired a decent GM to build the rest of their roster. 9/24/2017 5:26:28 PM |

I think a lot of teams will be trying to convince the guys to go the route the Cowboys took last night. Kneel before the anthem when all the cameras are on you to get your point across and then stand for the actual anthem.
I, for one, am sick of all the talk about this. I tune in to football to get away from all this political crap and enjoy a game. I could care less if people want to kneel or stand let them do what they want. I dont understand why most people give two shits about either side of this does it actually affect you? Nope didn't think so.
The reason things have gotten to where they have is because people care too much about arguing about things that have nothing to do with them. If someone wants to protest who cares? If you don't like them because of it don't buy their jersey. If you feel disrespected don't watch the game or go to the game. Pretty simple how to deal with stuff like this. 9/26/2017 9:25:59 AM |

the most recent round of this stuff (this past week) was 100% sparked by trump's tweets and comments. yeah, the protesting has been going on for a while now. but, and maybe i'm wrong, the fever pitch had certainly died down until trump's comments calling them "sons of bitches" or whatever.
