^^^ Do you not watch the show? Clearly the other girl was on the opposite side where she hit cobblestone, Theon and Sansa jumped into the snow.

Do YOU think a few inches of snow has some magical shock absorption ability? I may need to watch again but didn't the camera show dirt up against the walls, implying the snow was pretty light? Even if there is a good foot of snow, seems the minimum is some broken bones, making a getaway difficult especially since ramsay was back already. Again, what about theons character make you think he would risk more torture. He either needs a sure getaway or sure death, and that wasn't the former

Edit: ok, rewatched there was enough snow for me to believe the showrunners want us to think that can get out without serious injury, but not enough for me to believe.

yeah I can't think of any other way to explain away that jump. not realistic, but will do for the purpose of the show. also, I think Theon has been getting his senses back a bit and really struggling with helping Sansa or not but still erring to the paranoid side.

forgot to mention the Cersei scene - she is going to fuck some people up for what they did to her. I don't see how the little band of sparrows are going to stand up to what she's about to muster. surprised we haven't seen Margerie in several episodes too.

Ok, winters in this word can have 30 feet of snow hanging out normally. And this is a snow drift. A couple days of above freezing doesn't make that much powder go away. Our normal snow accumulations do not apply to the show.

I have seen video of a skier survive a 90 ft drop with no major injuries because of how much snow he landed in. He jumped off the wrong part of the cliff

Haven't you guys seen that video of the crazy Russian guy jumping off a building into a pile of snow? Given this is a fantasy world and winter is supposed to be pretty extreme I could see a big pile of snow in the corner of the castle.

Yeah I've dropped about 10 feet into a bunch of pow. You sink completely but it's a pretty soft fall. Just google ski jumps. Half the jumps they fall on their neck or back and they're fine because there's so much snow. The main concern is how to get out of all that snow without snow shoes. Postholing is a PITA.

Bunch of pow usually means you can be completely buried in it. Plus pow is more fun to say.

There was plenty to complain about this episode, namely everything that happened in Dorne (again) and the way Jon's death was handled. The jump into the snow was fine.

Just to put things into perspective, here is a YouTube clip of a Russian base jumper from a few years ago. His parachute didn't deploy properly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNa5dcLccS4

This tower is like twice the height of the walls of Winterfell and it looks like not nearly as much snow and the guy survived no problem. Unless they landed on their heads, Theon and Sansa at most got a sprained ankle. They are like 20 feet below the snow though and have no real fast way of getting away from Winterfell, and with Ramsay's dead girl hanging out in the court it won't be too long for them to get on their trail.

Podrik shows up at the last minute and talks Brienne out of killing Stannis. The three of them happen upon Sansa and Theon, hobbling out of the snow.

I still want to know what is up with Rickon and Osha. They were left out of the books, and the show.

I'm thinking he's in Ghost now, until Melisandre can figure out a way to smuggle out his body (before The Watch burn it) and repair it enough to have Jon re-enter it.

well now that he's technically died, I guess his debt to the Watch is done. kinda adds to the theory that he'll come back and eventually take over Westeros. I lot of people think he's part Stark part Targaryen, which would account for the "Song of Ice and Fire"

So can we talk about theories now? Obviously everyone knows about the R + L = J.

How does everyone feel about Tyrion being a Targaryen?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqVhKOxmJCw

And the other day, I saw the "Benjen = Daario" for the first time. Thoughts?

^ Both of those theories are terrible.

Maybe maybe maybe I could believe Daario = Euron, but Benjen = anyone we already know is not going to happen.

If not for the show, I think it would be okay. But obviously they aren't the same character. I really wish Benjen had been Coldhands.

I don't think the Tyrion/Targaryen theory is that bad.

Bronn's in love.

In that same vein, I would've had that boat turned right back around if I were Jaime.

I mean, I imagine he will turn it around. If the poison affected the sand snake lady at the same time, you'd have to assume that the scene with them was happening simultaneously to what was going on on the boat.

Daario can't be Euron. There's no way. While Daario was making a name for himself in the Fighting Pits, and afterwards at Dany's side, Euron was raiding sea villages in Westeros...I think that's right.

Because this has been talked about already.

Daario can be Euron. He uses blood magic to make his ship fast. The timeline works out in the book. However I like Daario being Benjin Stark TBH. They look the same and the cast was changed at the right time I think. Because the producers didnt know?

Tyrion the Targaryen

Look at what happened to Stannis and Theon.

They are kinslayers. Tyrion is doing quite well, yet he killed his father Tywin. Or was Tywin his father? Why did Tywin throw so much shade Tyrion's way? Was Tyrion's dwarfism/weird eyes caused by Targaryan and Lanister genes rejecting each other? Same thing happened with the combining of Stark and Lannister Valayrian Steel swords.

The rules are, as a host, you cant do anything to your guests (the first night?). You cant kill your kin. Else you are cursed. Same applied to the Frey's and the red wedding. When the book discusses this I thought it was just cultural and applied it to real world scenarios. Then I realized that the book is establishing rules with which to foreshadow characters downfalls.

Or at least thats what I like to think

Edit
Oh, you know how Theon slept around a ton. Well the theory goes, the reason he is cursed is he banged the miller's wife, got her pregnant, then killed his own son to make them look like Bran and Rickon. The miller's wife probably told him her thoughts on this before she was killed which started Theon's mental cracking

Two things I didn't like/thought were dumb about the finale:

The Sand Snakes continue to be the dumbest part about the show. They are bad-ass in the books...they are stupid in the show. The "bad pussy" line was about the worst line in any HBO show ever.

The Tyrion/Jorah/Daario/Grey Worm conference was also weak. First...how they fuck did they all get back there alive? How can they rule the city when they couldn't even protect their queen and keep the Sons of Harpy out of the coliseum? And the back and forth was poorly written. Its like they just badly needed to get to a certain point and sped through whatever dialogue was needed to get there. Oh and of course...there is Varys out of nowhere.

The Cersei/Arya/Jon Snow scenes more than made up for the rest of that garbage. The Cersei scene was STRONG. As was Arya's assassination of Meryn Trant.

There's a youtube video that covers the possibilities. Its a stretch, but mentions ways of getting around them being in two places at one time. I don't think I buy it, but they offer up explanations (albeit weak ones).

I guess the showrunners can do whatever they want, but R+L=J is a pretty well evidenced certainty in the books. Even on the show, the conversation Littlefinger had with Sansa down in the crypts hinted towards it. Jon's parentage is hugely important to the series, and it's definitely not Ned and some random tavern wench.

On initial viewing of the season finale, I too thought I saw his eyes color flare up slightly.

But when I went back to DVR I couldn't find it.

Theory: HBO removed the effect from the DVR version of the episode.

And they will spend an awful amount of effort to hide the fact that he isnt dead.
