Yeah he's probably dead. Just like Beric Dondarrion died like 6 times when Arya and the Hound came across him a few seasons ago. There are already multiple ways he can "come back" to life though so not really a big deal.

There were so many Dorne master plan theories out there. It may be that the show and book diverge and essentially become alternate universes.

I really hope that in the book, Dorne gets a little more airtime. I guess we'll see Dorne through the Snakes or whatever, but they're gonna get overrun by the Lannisters.

Also, I'm tired of having seemingly major players introduced only to be killed off 3 episodes later. The whole "kill off main characters" schtick was cool the first couple times GRRM/HBO did it, but after the Red Wedding, it's almost a parody of itself. I liked Oberyn - dead. I liked Doran - dead. I liked Jorah - gonna die.

Next major character to die? Daario is going to challenge Khal Moro and pay for it with his life.

So after seeing the lannisters off at the pier, the sand sisters ran to get their own boat, followed them to kings landing, pulled up alongside their boat in daylight, murdered his bodyguards without noise and killed whatshisname.

Also why wait for the raven to kill the Prince and his bodyguard? Seems they should have started trying as soon as the boat left

How the hell does a rabid animal like Rasay stage a coup? Who the hell wants Ramsay as the lord of the North?

Also the thing I was expecting and dreading last week came to pass. The Sand Snakes managed to slip off of a boat in the middle of the Kings landing harbor when it should have been impossible to get in or out. They spent as much time explaining that as the did how they actually managed to get onto the ship when they were on the dock as it sailed away. (Which is zero time, in case you missed what I was saying)

The entire Dorne plot is a dumpster fire now.

If we hadn't seen Dondarrion come back, I'd say yea, deus ex machine, but they've already established that you can come back to life in various ways in this world.

And Dondarrion had scars where his mortal wounds had healed over. There was another person brought back by Dondarrion's priest who came back in a far worse situation. I guess I can't mention that person here since it is in the books and not (yet) in the show.

EDIT: damn. beat me to it and yeah that's why i don't view it as deus ex machina. I think it was set up pretty well. As best you can to support a resurrection.

in the books, Beric loses memories each time he is resurrected and he doesn't fully heal 100%. He begins to become a shell of his former self and carries all the scars of his six deaths. He permanently loses sight in his one eye for example. I don't remember how they handled it in the show. This is the only example I can talk about in the TV show thread since the other resurrection hasn't/might not ever happen in the show. But the other example was of similar nature.

Obviously anyone who gets resurrected so far in the story was killed/murdered. So I think for the sake of the story you kind of have to accept that their previous wounds are 'closed' or not life-threatening anymore. Otherwise, the resurrections via the lord of light would be completely pointless if people just immediately bled out and died again. Additionally, this is somewhat new territory. Thoros didn't even believe he could actually resurrect Beric and isn't quite sure how it keeps working - another example that magic is slowly waking up again in their world.
