ok.....this looks pretty stupid. Gene Wilder was the best and will never be replaced in that role. Jonny Depp looks to femmy.

I thought they said they were going to make this a dark version or something, that doesn't look creepy to me at all

Aww man, looking at the whole cast list makes me sad...violet's father isn't in this one, meaning no "You're turning violet violet!" quote, unless they let that annoying chick who's going to be her mother

its a remake in the sense that its being done the way the book portrayed the story. not that the original wasnt good, it just didnt really match the tone of the book.

is this going to be a movie geared towards kids

or is it going to be a little darker than your average kid flick

either way i'm sure johnny depp will make wonka subtley super psycho

Did Charlie and the Chocolate factory introduce gene wilder? i thought he popular before then. When was Blazing Saddles released?

i'll agree with you there, but the depp factor has to cancel out planet of the apes, just as burton cancels out secret window (even though secret window wasnt nearly as bad as planet of the apes)

keep in mind those are just character shots... so much of the compelling atmosphere of tim burton's films comes from the settings and the universe he creates, so i'm holding out hope that his vision of the rest of the original film's elements will make the character's appearances seem less cheesy.

man
i hope this sucks
so that way johnny depp won't be so pop-culturish anymore...

next, we have to figure out how to make pirates lame again - because i hate when stuff i love turns trendy

btw
my joke for the pictures is:

nobody explained to johnny that this isn't charlie and the chocolat factory?

I'm not sure I'm following your train of thought with all the strikethroughs and corrections, but are saying BIG FISH makes you less secure or more secure with Tim Burton's abilities as a filmmaker?

Depp's Wonka will be nothing like Wilder's Wonka (that sounds a little dirty), and that will be done on purpose. A lot of the script for the first movie was rewritten because Wilder made the character cute and lovable rather than a pompous jackass. Depp will play him as the pompous jackass. It's going to be a very different kind of movie, not meant to be at all the same as the first one. I was actually discouraged to hear that the oompa loompas were still going to sing.

Also, if you forget that Planet of the Apes was supposed to be Planet of the Apes, it wasn't a bad flick.
