commuting on Rt 50 must be hell.

My folks live off of 50 over on the Eastern Shore and during the summer its simply ridiculous the amount of traffic that goes through our little town.

I live next to the Silver Spring Metro (red line), work in Southern Howard County so I go up 29 straight to my job.. about 20-25 minutes depending on lights and traffic.

I lived in Falls Church from July 2003 - April 2005 and worked in Leesburg. The place was too stressful, busy, and aggravating so I had to get away.

^ I'll be at Howard later this week doing one of our summer workshops. I'll have to check out the grounds while I'm there.

(How is it that I've never been to Howard?!)

PEACE PEEPS,

I'm here in the actual DC Proper (that's right folks, i have NO VOTE ...sadly). Cleveland Park/NW DC is fun times...I work in Chevy Chase. What are you other DC TWW peeps up to this weekend? Who watched PR's nice TD pass tonight? Who is planning on going to CCSP this year to watch football? We need a Ruckus Pizza bash...but in DC (back to the OLDOLD days).

^^Didn't know you were up here. I have a friend coming into town that hasn't been to DC, so I guess we'll be hitting up the typical touristy stuff, monuments, museums, etc. Definitely watched PRiv and the Chargers last night...he (and the playcalling) definitely got more comfortable as he was in there, he led them down for their only TD and what should have been a FG.

Haha we need a TWW Ruckus goes to DC

from what i understand, there is a pretty active nc state alumni assocation in DC. they get together quite often for game watches and other activities (like flag football, softball, etc).

weve been trying to do something similar in baltimore. last year we had a pretty good group getting together for games....and we had about 75 people tailgaiting in college park for the state-maryland game.

The alumni group in DC is pretty strong. They do all sorts of game watches and gatherings. I lived up there for almost 2 years and I got involved with the alumni softball team. They are involved in a 54 team coed beer league that is awesome to play in. I'm actually headed up to DC today to play in the end of season tournament. We're supposed to play Notre Dame at 6:30 today in front of the White House on the Ellipse. Last year we came in 3rd out of 48 and hopefully we can win it this year.

Here is the NC State DC Alumni website and here is the Overall DC Alumni website:

^^ I've heard good things about the club that's developing up in Baltimore...a friend of mine has been heavily involved.

Good luck to the softball team tonight when they take on Notre Dame. One of my co-workers is on the Notre Dame team (though he's out of town for the week) and I'd love to have that to hang over him. It ain't the Gator Bowl, but you know...

Yep, you try playing 6 softball games in 110 degree heat factor. You'll be sore too. I'll guarantee it.

Nah, I actually moved back down to Greenville, NC in April. I just go up occasionally on the weekends to play softball with the alumni team.

you're bullshitting right? My wife and I are living in Ballston, and I'm working here at least through the end of August; if we win our contract, I'll be working here long term. If we don't, I might end up downtown or in New Carrollton.
