As I suggested in the other thread

Name's noone has mentioned yet

Mike Brey - Notre Dame
Billy Gillespie - TX A&M
Tom Brennan - Former Vermont Coach
Pat Flannery - Bucknell
Dana Altman - Creighton

I still prefer Nolan Richardson

I say FUCK NO to the Notre Dame guy.

one of our herb complaints was not winning close games, which is pretty much Mike Brey's forte(losing close games).

Hahahaha, Nolan Richardson, I'm sure he'll come.

Because State is WAY less racist than Arkansas.

I suggested Brey for 2 reasons. 1) his/my Delaware ties and 2)he's a Duke grad/former assistant with major experience.

Richardson has wanted another job for years. Hell, he's coaching Panama's national team now. You don't think he's listen? I think state needs someone with his kind of big persona and name if they have any hopes of being lower than the red headed bastard stepchild to Duke/UNC in the area.

Bob Knight's got to be a joke.

Although I'd love for him to beat Dean's record at NC State... he'd probably collapse at halftime the next game and die of old age. He's like pushing 70 isn't he?

The ONLY reason I would want Knight here is so he could break Deans record and do it at State. Other than that I don't see a legit reason for him being here. He's way past his prime. He's a cartoon of Bobby Knight.

We have a small shot with Calipari, IMO. No shot with Pearl after the extension

Archie nor Sean will coach at a school that pretty much ran their good friend/old coach/old boss off.

I went to the ECU/Memphis game and Calipari was pretty fun to watch from 2 rows behind the memphis bench. He once got a ref's attention and magically stopped the game all by himself. no timeout or anything. ECU was just taking the ball up the court and calipari was like "WTF(in other words, I have no idea what he said)" and the ref stopped the game. media timeout. and it was after a made basket so it's not like it was sposed to be a media timeout. magic

^^If that's even true (Even though it makes no sense, basketball-wise, really)... I'd like to think that if he had the choice and we pursued him.... he'd come here.

i disagree with that logic. he knows the school very well, he knows the program very well, and just because he worked and played for sendek doesn't mean he is going to coach just like him. i'd say give him a shot.

lee fowler and company need to think about who they will be hiring, and then think whether the decision will result in a resounding laugh, or uncomfortable pause of silence

The only thing I'm worried about with this scenario is that Lee Fowler will be making the decision on who to hire.

It will result in a resounding laugh, or an uncomfortable pause of silence. Possibly both.

espn should be the one to announce the pick and have cameras with the RBC Center packed with ncsu fans (commence some joke about empty seats) and show the reaction to the announcement
