Well this is perhaps the most critical point NC State Athletics has or will see for a long time. We absolutely must hire a top of the line coach. Hiring an up and coming mid major coach would be a huge risk and probably a major mistake. My list of candidates:

-Rick Barnes (said he's happy at Texas and there's really more reasons to stay there than to come here but we have to make him #1 on the wishlist either way)
-John Calipari (Memphis coach)
-Lorenzo Romar (Wash coach)
-Tom Moore (UConn's top assistant for 12 years and one of the best recruiters in the nation)

Money must not be an issue and we will probably have to blow these guys away with offers for them to come here.

Okay, I think the decision should revolve around these traits:

1. wifeless and single
2. big dick
3. appreciation for fat chicks
4. nice suits
5. good smile
6. big dick

A sexy voice would clinch it.

Nate McMillan does in fact have a degree.

I believe he might even have gotten a master's degree

We have a great facility and plenty of money to throw around (4th most profitable bball program in nation).

If Jed Clampett fucks this up, he should be shipped to antarctica.

think about it - we were able to get a fairly hot (albeit very young) coach (Sendek) to come here when the situation was terrible. why can't we do better now when the situation is much better?

^^hopefully his son will be playing here.

So that could play some leverage

but I was making a point about Nate

People have been saying he doesn't have is degree

but they are full of shit.

I'm pretty sure McMillan doesn't have a degree. He didn't graduate when he went here... unless he went back over the last few years, he doesn't have one.

Either way, he's not coming. Montgomery would be a good NBA'er to look into, though

i'd give larranaga a look, especially considering he lost just now...might be able to land him for a bargain price

my top choices:

1. Knight
2. Barnes
3. Tubby Smith (no one has said his name...they are not satisfied at UK)
4. Romar
5. Larranaga

1. the man's name is romar

2. how do you figure? i mean i know he's got a sensational team-carrying talent on the team in brandon roy, but he turned washington basketball into something worth mentioning, even though they haven't reached the elite eight under him either (i think) - they did have a #1 seed last year too

i think we are all agreed that in order to satisfy the bulk of fans, the new coach will have to be able to

1. Split the season series with UNC annually
2. Beat Duke 1 out of 3 attempts
3. Win an ACC championship
4. Consistently advance into the Sweet 16 or further

so who's got the proven ability to coach to this degree?

I know this name has been thrown around before, but i haven't seen it mentioned yet, and I may be out of the loop as to the reason (contract...etc) But why not Rick Pitino?

oh god, pitino would be hot

i doubt he'd leave louisville or wherever the hell he is, but he might like to go up against roy

yea, he's still at Louisville, they might be looking for a change after their NIT season this year, and I have heard before that Pitino likes the Raleigh area...... And yes, I think being the coach he is he might like coaching against Mike and Roy....
