^^^^ I had the Chuck Amato bobblehead like it, but his head fell off 2 years ago. Can't say I plan on glueing it back on anytime soon.

"Everyone knows someone who's married with three daughters. When you ask them what it's like to live in a house with all women, they all make that same face -- the one where they tilt their head to the left, roll their eyes and exhale, as if to say, "You have no idea, I'm honestly hoping just to make it out of this alive." In a related story, that's how every Chargers fan looked after Phil Rivers' salvaged that epic stink bomb in Seattle last weekend with the Vince Jackson TD pass. Can you win a Super Bowl with Rivers at this stage of his career? It's eminently debatable. Can you win a Super Bowl with Marty Schottenheimer? Even more debatable. Well, what about Phil AND Marty?

every qb has had a bad game or two this season...philip's just had 2 back to back, whenever everyone's been waitin for him to play like a first year starter.

he's just calling it like someone who is impartial should.

SD has a 27.5% chance of winning the Super Bowl according to gamblers.

IMO, its not higher than 20%... id say about 17% or so

i dunno, they haven't lost at home, hopefully they'll have homefield throughout. their loss to balt was when full-fledged martyball was their MO

Theyve been a very good team in the regular season.

The postseason is a different ballgame though.

Indy cruised through the reg season last year and were flat out beaten by the team many considered to be the worst in the playoffs.

Look at the Bears. The Panthers STOMPED them in Chicago.

1) San Diego does not have a dominant defense.

2) They have a coach who has never gotten over the hurdle despite some really good teams in KC. He lost home games there too and KC has much better homefield advantage than San Diego.

3) First time playoff QB's have a horrible track record

4) The bye week sometimes hurts teams as they come out nervous & flat while the other team is more prepared. Look at what happened to Denver in 1996 when they had the best team in the league.

5) There is not a lot that separates a win from a loss. I refuse to believe that any team is better than a 20% chance to win the Super Bowl this season because there are way too many teams that can legitimately win it.

Thought it was pretty funny that in the video of the comeback from last week, when they do the slow motion on the last shot of Rivers with his hands up, the score at the bottom of the screen is of the Colts-Texans game...it was a good winning day for Rivers and Mario

^^ no you must be thinking of someone else.

Simmons is pretty fair and unbiased. No reason to think he has anything against the Chargers. He certainly hasnt touted the Patriots this year, if anything he's openly stated he doesnt think they're that good

On the chargers board they said he was limping.

But he's still playin, and doing fairly well, besides an INT.

Good bounceback from the INT. I think I'm gonna go to the bar and watch this and the BAL game before the New Years Eve festivities..

they took him out because the game was sealed for em, and no need to further cause injury to his ankle. If he was seriously hurt he wouldnt be in the game in the 2nd and 3rd qt. Good news is 1) he rapes even with a bad ankle, 2) they clinche home field adv, and 3) they have a first round bye.

just nitpicking... rivers injured the arch of his right foot (throwing foot); not his ankle.

the NBC highlight show talked about him getting hurt while they showed a play of him passing the ball

FOX showed him getting sack/tackled with his foot/anle bending

NBC is dumb

hahaha! that's such a raw deal for volek. it's probably a routine practice around the league when starting qb's get hurt, but i still think it's a little demeaning for the backup qb.

yeah, volek is #2. one of his stipulations before signing with a team was that he has to be 2nd string at worst.

Phil is sitting a week out in practice for a sprained foot, but they are letting him call plays in practice. They are trying to see how competent Phil is and if they can really turn him lose Peyton Manning style where he can call his own plays at the line (at times). Probably.

all my prayers for the next week will be that Philip plays like he did earlier in the season throughout the playoffs. I got enough of all the shit-talking about NCSU guys in the league with Mario Williams(totally undeserved) and Koren Robinson(NOT undeserved).

funny, my gf made me Philip Rivers bible for xmas. It's pretty much copies a catholic bible with a lot of Rivers/football/NC State/Chargers references. Awesome ass gift but i'll admit it's borderline obsessive.
but hell, Phil is the man and god himself.
