OK, I've got my ad i posted on craiglist right below here. Just wanted to say this is pretty urgent since the guy who was going to be my roommate just skipped out on me and, unless I find somebody soon (like now) I'm screwed! This is a great complex to live in though (Ivy Commons) and I'm pretty sure there's a waitlist here. If you wanted to live here and aren't sure if you'll get in, here's your chance to live with a great roommate.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we'll go from there. The lease has to be signed by May 1st, and I am willing to meet with you on or off campus if you want to see if we'd be good roommates.

If you want the cliff's notes:

-- 2br/2ba apartment w/ male roommate
-- Private bath, private closet
-- Full kitchen, stacked washer/dryer, also has a dishwasher
-- Apartment in good condition, fairly nice, we'll keep it clean when we live together (I'm going to steam clean it this summer assuming I can get a roommate)
-- Rent is going to be $307.50/mo (we each pay $615 every other month) plus utilities (around $120 a month incl digital cable, roadrunner, water, electric).
-- 5 minute bus ride from NCSU, 25 minute walk (good for daily exercise)
-- Safe area, no sketchy people just walking through our complex at night
-- No cats/dogs, but some other pets might be allowed if you ask the rental agency
-- Quiet complex, great for students
-- I'm a male, Junior in Civil Engineering, and I'll be going through grad school.
-- I play video games, I like beer (in moderation), and I make a good roommate
-- I'll help you move in
-- I don't smoke

I should also say that if May 1st rolls around and things fall through, I will be looking for a place to stay. Maybe a house if anybody is looking for a roommate just north of campus. The lease here ends around July 15 but I'd be willing to move in around a couple weeks before that (it'll give me enough time to move my stuff over after work). Anyway, that's going to be another thread.

The longass version:

Hey there, things recently fell through with another roommate (on very short notice) and I need to find another roommate fast. The short of it is that it's a 960 sq ft apartment at Ivy Commons off Avent Ferry. This apartment has a stacked washer/dryer unit and a full kitchen, including dishwasher. There's lots of storage here (you get a closet, and there's two more we can use for storage). There's also a nice private brick-walled patio that's big enough to grill on. You get your own bedroom with a private attached bathroom. It's fairly quiet here, utilities are cheap (your share will be around $120/mo including digital cable, road runner, electric, and water), and parking is good. The apartment is in good condition and it's really a great place to live. It's around a 25 minute walk from here to NCSU, and the wolfline runs on both sides of the apartment (very short bus ride to campus). It's a great place to live as a student. The complex is fairly safe, the neighbors are good, and you're allowed to have visitors (each of us gets a guest pass but they don't check it very often, you could have a party and the cars probably wouldn't get towed).

As for me, I'm a guy, a non-smoker, and I'm a soon-to-be senior civil engineering student at NCSU. I try to keep things fairly clean and I do my share of the chores (vacuum every now and then, wash the dishes, etc). I play my fair share of video games (console and otherwise), and I'm pretty easy to get along with. I'll help you move in too, as long as you aren't too far away. We can talk about that. Anyway, I'd be happy to meet you. Just let me know soon! I have to get this lease signed by May 1st or else the rental agency is putting this place on the market.

E-mail me and we'll see if we'll be good roommates! If you want to meet on campus that's fine, just let me know when's good for you and we can sort out a time.

Also, the rental agency doesn't allow cats or dogs. Other pets may be OK but you won't really have a ton of room for them (I think they limit it to fish, honestly). The rental agency is ammons pittman if you want to give them a ring and find out (I don't have any pets so I really don't remember that part of the lease).

Hey now, I wasn't intending to release confidential medical information there. It's a really good impersonation. I can't get the non-accent right myself. I always add too much of a Yosemite-Sam sound to it.

But yeah, I can vouch that he's a good guy who won't get on your nerves and won't make a mess of the place. I hear rumors that roommates might even get free computer repair?

Confidential medical information my foot. The more people that know I have diabetes, the more likely they are to call 911 when I don't respond to being kicked when I pass out. (And the more likely I am to not die, coincidentally!)
