I mean, why write the fucking book if there was "no point"?

Postmodern books are generally not pointless. They may not culminate in some grandiose and satisfying plot, but there are definitely things to be taken from them (Gravity's Rainbow is my favorite example).

Pale Fire is an interesting look at someone whose mania hinges on his neighbor's poem, since he has no creative outlet poetically (despite that he's a brilliant prose writer). The contrast between Kinbote and Shade is extremely interesting, and will likely be my last paper topic.
