Ivan...I want that plate. Reckon I can get it in a weighted tag?

Truck is pushing 7000 lbs right now, so I really need a weighted tag.

By the way, she's pullin' like a mule now. 21 pounds of boost, AND she picked up 5mph on the top end.

Next steps: install pyro, get Taurus cooling fan #2, install tranny temp gage, and maybe pick up the 16cm2 exhaust turbine housing. I'd really like to intercool this baby, but the plumbing part of that is gonna be a nightmare. 1st gen intercooler setups are rare as hen's teeth.

Oh, and truly, she sounds SOOOO mean right now. Quite literally:

Quote :
"she's straight-piped, and there's no better sound. Except for a female beckoning the Almighty as she rakes her nails down yer back..."

I heard the Cummins many a time on the road trip I took this weekend. 'Twas a comforting sound.

^^yep, you can get weighted personalized plates. you definitely need a weighted tag. i'm surprised they let you register it with a regular one in the first place. with you loaning it out for tow duty, you need one to cover that too. dmv/shp has started sticking people hard for running over their tag limits.

def. get that pyro on there... crucial now that you've turned the pump up. oh, and 21 lbs. is just getting started... the bus will do 30-35 depending on the weather.

lemme know if you want this stack and/or those hubcaps.

What's the stack diameter? I think that's an afirmative on the stack, Ghostrider.

We's goin' the dually route, man, soon as I can get the rims. So I think I pass on the hubcaps.

um, i think it's probably a 6"? i'm not positive. it's got the little flapper deal on the top too.

matt/lee can get it out of the bus when they pick up my trailer for this weekend.

yeah, i don't see why not. the bus drags it with the same motor, and it weighs a hell of a lot more. gearing is probably pretty comparable once you consider the difference in tire size. the brake controller is a definite need, it'll probably weigh in around 12k with both their vehicles + trailer weight.

i told them they can use my suburban if your truck isn't ready.

De truck be's ready, yo. It could probably use an axle lube change or top-up first. I'll tell Matt to do it tomorrow.

I'm mostly worried about the hitch and tongue weight. I'll get 'em to check that out as well. Yours uses the 2-5/16" ball? I got both with the truck.

yep, 2 and 5/16. standard 7 pin round plug.

tongue weight isn't a problem as long as you load it right. if you've got a class IV hitch, it should be rated for 10k gross. close enough.

Make way for the Liebherr T 282B: the world's largest "DZLPOWA" truck! Cue "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack!

Oh, hell, just listen to it while you marvel at the Liebherr.

The Liebherr actually uses a diesel-electric setup like a train locomotive. Fucker is supposed to move around 40 mph.

Took 'er out for a spin last night. Slapping yer foot on the go pedal is addictive.

I pulled out of the Handee Hugo (or whatever the fuckin store is in front of Avent Ferry Food Dog) just as this older woman was getting out of her car. She had a yap dog with her. Fucker yapped a time or two when I was leaving so I powerbraked it and left owner and rat in a cloud of diesel smoke. Dog yapped its fool head off. I had a fit. I am such a mean bastard.

I took your trailer around the neighborhood the other night, Ivan. Decided to head up Kaplan at full throttle. The pyro hit about 1200.

Speaking of which, I now possess four (well, actually three; I gave one to the Crest Road Fab guys) Stewart-Warner 3" pyrometers. I don't have the probes for them, though, but I found a place that has 'em for about thirty bucks. These are some high quality pieces and they don't require external power like the one I currently have installed. Thanks to arghx for coming through in a pinch.

the wire tie in clip thing had some undone, i got it fixed before we rolled. just took turns nice and wide and only hopped one curb a little bit dialing in the tongue weight on it was the hardest part.

Witness the most powerful diesel engine in the world: the Wartsila-Sulzer RTA96-C turbocharged two-stroke. Some facts on the 14 cylinder version:

Total engine weight: 2300 tons (The crankshaft alone weighs 300 tons.)
Length: 89 feet
Height: 44 feet
Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm
Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

http://people.bath.ac.uk/ccsshb/12cyl/

I think the theme song for this one shall be Metallica's "Fuel."
