I always put the seat down even when I was living alone.

I like it, no real negatives here other than it being my place first so it was a harder transition and I still dont think she feels like its ours 100% yet.

Dont do it. Learn from my mistakes.

Keep your own place and he keeps his too. Stay at each other's every freakin night if you wanna.

Just dont live together before you're married.

because somewhere along the way, youre gonna lose your independence

you're gonna stop hanging out with everyone except each other for awhile

youre gonna go from planning dates to assuming that youre doing things together every night and one of you is more than likely gonna start acting like theyre married to the other

then youll get bored and realize that youre not married and still young and want to go hang out with the girls / boys every once in awhile

which will only piss off / hurt the feelings of the other

when you fight, you wont have anywhere to go to get away from each other

youre gonna end up smothering each other or feeling smothered

youll justify staying together when you actually should break up because of financial reasons or co-dependence..

keep your own place.

there's an adjustment period for sure, and the main thing you gotta learn/figure out is which arguments are worth arguing over and which one's you just say fuck it to. pick your battles.

It's weird. I feel completely comfortable walking around the models with him and discussing the things that we want in our future home..whether it is one that we move in to in December or one that we move into later....but we're both feeling the situation out. Sometimes I think, "This is awesome...we should just sign the lease....just tell him right now that you want to sign it."

Then I'm like, "No...wait and see what happens..."

But the truth of the matter is we loved the apartment we saw today and there is no real way for us to each afford to live there each in our own one bedroom. We're stuck....

And the guy that was going to "try to stay in NC" and live with him instead of moving back to Connecticut is keeping him at bay. The guy says if he can find a job, he will stay...but yet he is not making any effort to look for a job and he doesn't act like he wants to.

cons- having to sneak-a-beat
- having to watch mtv/ vh1 reality shows, or whatever she wants to watch on the favorite tv.
- one bathroom is a terrible idea. eventually you end up on the same schedule... i piss outside a lot.
- he/she is always there.

pros- bitch make me a sandwich
- you always have entertainment.
- she is always there.

^ there's only one bathroom in my house and there are 6 of us living there
the sneak-a-beat thing isn't a problem - it was awkward at first but if I want to do it I just will, she doesn't care

pros: not so lonely
always have someone to hang out with
I have a reason to cook nice meals
she keeps me focused and working towards my goals

cons: she keeps me focused and working towards my goals
I have to be supportive all of the time
she won't watch horror flicks with me

When we moved in together we moved to different neighborhood. When I lived alone I had lived in that neighborhood for 4 years, knew lots of my neighbors, and my brother lived right down the street. I'm much more comfortable there now, but at first every creaking noise the house made was another 15 minutes that I couldn't fall back to sleep.

con:
-sharing closet space. granted, our place doesn't have much storage space in general, but sharing closet space is a nightmare.

We each have our own tv and I don't really watch tv...just Sunday night and Thursday....other than that I watch House with him on tuesdays an Football Sunday and Monday. The place we are looking at has two amazing bathrooms...HUGE!

We spend a majority of our time together now and when he goes out with his guys, I go out with my girls. Anyone who knows me knows that I am very independant...I didn't use to be but I am very much so now. I am excited about the possibility of cooking meals together and not having to lug all my lesson plans everywhere..

AGREED~ It sucks so bad now to not have anywhere to put my stuff....but the place we went to yesterday has two HUGE closets. He made the comment that all of our clothes would maybe fill up half of it....and he's right. They were AMAZING!

the only thing i don't really like about it is that it's hard to escape and relax. i'm not a social introvert by any stretch of the imagination, but i do like to have some alone time. and i don't like escaping to yard work or chores, sometimes i just want to get the hell out and relax but i don't have anywhere to go.

but i love my fiance more than anything in the world.

^^haha, truth! in the morning after a long night of drinking--I'm right there with advil and water when he wakes up. when I was sick with crazy stomach pains, he was right there making me light meals.

pros:
-dividing up chores--ie, not having to do the ones you hate the most. I HATE vacuuming and taking out the trash, but for him it's tolerable so those are his duties. He hates doing the laundry, so that's all me.
-coming to home to someone who really cares about how your day went.

^which is why I <3 <3 <3 poker night (bring it back fellas!!!!). he goes out and hangs with the guys for 4 hours, and I get to sit at home on my ass and watch mind numbing television and eat ben & jerry's guilt free. i'm not sure what his take on that is...he can slip away and tune me out better than i can him, so he can easily have "alone time"

We're excited more than anything and are counting down the days.

"I will never live with any woman who says a god damned word about the toilet seat in a joint bathroom. If it's your bathroom I won't use it, or if I do I'll leave it how I found it, however if it's shared you need to shut the fuck up. Do you honestly not look at the toilet before you sit down, you know in case it has been pissed on, shit on, or if the last person to use it didn't flush? Is it that much of a god damned burden to put the seat down if you're going to use it? Why is it imperative that I keep the seat in the position that is most convenient for you?

Fuck off."

Just for the sake of restating it...the toilet seat does not bother me if it is clean...it can be up, down, sideways....as long as it is clean.

Just thought that needed to be reiterated.

I will never live with any man who is too god damned stupid to figure this out for his own damn self.
