I always for some reason put the damn thing down... I've never understood the big deal about it from either party. If it's up and you need it down then PUT IT FUCKING DOWN. If it's down and you want it up, PUT IT FUCKING UP. Now, is that really so hard?

I don't think I would want to move in with the boyfriend until after I've gotten the ring and the date has been set. I don't want him to get into that comfort zone and think, well I've got all I need from just living together the only thing that would change with a marriage is that paper.

However, if it doesn't work out that way, I would do it for finacial reasons.

^whereas with justin and i it would be a piece of paper and finances (and the whole death do us part and not wanting bastard kids thing). he owns the house, i pay him rent and we split utilities. and he's a smart guy--he doesn't let me put any money into the house.

so this means despite the fact that i would love to just go out and buy a new backdoor (or windows, or redo the kitchen & bathrooms) and have someone install it (and that i have the money to do it) he won't let me.

the only thing i have financially invested in the house is my furniture and belongings (which is everything except the TV). we even pay separately for groceries. the only comfort zone in our situation is the fact that we live together (and i do his laundry).

^I'd let him wash his own stinky drawers!

That's actually the smartest co-habitation agreement that I've seen yet.

Otherwise, I don't recommend it until marriage. Errrrybody needs some personal space and personal time.

Of course, my ex-wife and I lived together for a year and a half before getting married. Never again.
