something important being dropped on the floor where a bunch of people are walking and people scurrying to grab it, but it just keeps getting kicked around right before they are able to grab it

Monitors/Screens that explode killing everyone but the main stars.

The sound of a hammer being cocked when the actor draws a GLOCK or other striker fired weapon.

People not reacting at all to the sound of un-suppressed gunshots fired indoors or in an enclosed space.
Honorable exception:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPlDq19kVVc

Extra gets killed during the course of an episode/movie, no one grieves. Main actor gets killed, lots of grief.
(Example: Star Trek, extras get killed off all the time and no one is the worse for wear, but when Tasha Yar or Jadzia Dax gets killed off, its a big deal)

A silenced centerfire pistol is fired, and people in the next room do not notice the sound at all.

Courtrooms in the movies are alot fancier looking than most are in real life.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but:

Grabbing a bad guy and using him as a bullet shield.

^ Cops always seem to drink coffee from paper/styrofoam cups.

Answering machines. Either playing all the messages, or the protagonist receiving an embarrassing/misunderstood phone call within earshot of the love interest.

Whenever a character comes home with groceries it's always a brown paper bag with raw leafy vegetables (Celery, carrots with the stem still on, etc) or french bread or something sticking out the top without any type of cover. Their grocery stores don't have the little plastic vegetable bag things with twist ties I guess.

The Man Child.

This cliche, if it was ever funny, stopped being funny 15 years ago.

Pee Wee Herman
Dumb and Dumber
Ace Ventura
Billy Madison...Adam Sandler

Since then, this cliche has continued to be done to death, and its just not funny or clever anymore.

Seth Rogen, Will Farrell et al

- someone yells at someone/a group that they need to go do something. everyone sits still for a few seconds doing nothing. "don't just stand there, let's go!"

- someone shoots/stabs/punches another person that can't get hurt for some reason. guy that got shot looks down at the injury, then back at the other person, waits a beat, then kills them. meanwhile the other guy is just standing there looking scared or confused.

reverse of this was a funny moment in Without a Paddle, when Burt Reynolds tells the 3 guys that they had to get out there and change their lives and they had to do it "now" ... they all stand up like they are gonna leave and he looks ticked and is like "not RIGHT NOW, ya idiots!"

This has probably already been said (and it may even be more of a television cliche), but every time a character tells someone else (usually a significant other) that they "will always have time for you" or "just want to be there for you" they immediately get an extremely important phone call that forces them to leave right that moment.

I was always bothered by the timely appearance of specialty trucks in the first two Terminators.

Has no one mentioned how cliched it is that the good guy is ALWAYS able to escape by crawling through duct work? It is always magically large enough to fit at least one person, secure enough to hold their weight, and never has any obstructions such as turning vanes or dampers. Also, the ducts magically end in one of 2 places: The outside without a fan (not a very smart design for an exhaust system) or a giant fan that is large enough to chop a person to little bits.

Doesn't hollywood know that there is a LOT more to an HVAC system than rectangular ducts and giant fans?!!?

hollywood does but the general public doesn't...

don't know if it was mentioned yet, but they show a bar...it is late at night and only 1 or 2 people in there, and the bartender is wiping off glasses with a cloth

Guy does gravity defying flips through the air, lands on all fours, has chin pressed against chest and slowly, dramatically raises head.

Dramatic music plays, 6 low level bad guys come in the room and stand in formation, three on each side. Then main bad guy comes and stands between them before addressing protagonist. Bonus points if he lets out an evil laugh or says something along the lines of "You really thought I wouldn't catch on to your plan?"
