But what does it mean to be civilized?

Does being "civilized" mean to live in a society where individual rights are respected? Does civilization mean setting men free from other men in a society of privacy?

Or does being civilized mean to be ruled by altruistic laws that are said to benefit the "greater good"?

I'd argue that the majority has no right to infringe on the individual rights of a minority via laws that limit the amount of children you can have.

first of all, I hadn't had my coffee yet when I posted that, so you'll have to excuse my irritable tone

being "civilized" in that context meant having enough sense to realize that if everyone was breeding at a similar rate, assuming productivity bounded by fixed resources, it follows that eventually the population growth will run into a limit where survival rate and quality of life falls drastically

I would consider legislation enacting population control to be as excusable as laws prohibiting murder and theft. This woman's vagina is a weapon aimed at us all!

I'm having a hard time determining whether you're serious or trolling. If thousands of families did it for several generations, then it might be a problem. I see no real threat of overpopulation. As long as the family can support itself, I don't see any real problem there.

From what I understand, once a woman has one c-section it's best if all the rest of the deliveries were by c-section too because of the scar tissue that builds up or something.


In my opinion I think it's crazy to have that many children. But I'm not going to really look down on that family. They have a differen't religious belief as I do. They aren't on any government help, and they are actually doing pretty good. Yes I think a lot of their lifestyle is a little wack, but you know what, there's probabaly people who think mine is weird too. Open you hearts and minds people.
