got offered a position today making about $15K more and relocation is included. only problem is it'd be moving to Greensboro.

currently i live on South Beach and I really enjoy it here. though dating sucks. its all like temorary dating or dating a chick for like 3 months at the most. there's no such thing as long-term here and that sort of bothers me.

what would you guys do ?

I'd let this fake thread die and come up with one that's a little more creative, like the time you said you sat on your girlfriend's cat and killed it.

That thread was pretty tits.

i just recall time when I lived in Raleigh/Durham and it was tough ... i remember some nights just driving around looking for action that was no where to be found ...

in Miami I walk a few blocks and go into a random bar and its like "Wow ! this is cool ..."

are there any instance of that in G'boro ... ?

AND THEN like actually work. the ppl I tend to work with here are for the most part pretty relaxed, etc. i've always found co-workers in NC to be a little insecure to ppl that are transplants.

Your nightlife will probably suffer greatly. If you are enjoying your lifestyle in miami and have no money problems, i'd stay. Sometimes a boost in salary isnt worth it if you know the quality of life is going to go way down.

i live in Greensboro now and work here...i live downtown adn its actually a pretty cool downtown. there are some good bars that i like to go to and the food around here is good as well.

Thirsty Thursday is like a religion here during baseball season, and all the bars on Thursdays have amazing $1 beer specials before and after the Greensboro Grasshoppers baseball game (minor league). The games are tons of fun and they sell $1 beer there too, and lots of hot girls go.

I enjoy being right in between Charlotte and Raleigh, and you can easily go to both cities on a whim at will.

i don't know. the thought of living in NC again makes me nauseous.

i don't have any money issues in Miami . . . its just in order to get your savings up you have to be really disciplined. my only beef with Miami is the dating culture. after awhile you get tired of fucking chicks and sending them home.

i'm convinced that the really hot Miami girls only commit if you drive Ferrari. or maybe the new Audi R8.

^^^in that case:

1. Move to NC
2. Buy a Ferrari with all the extra money you'll have from the raise and cost of living savings
3. Move back to Miami and fuck hot bitches
4. ---
5. Profit

but dude. since the real estate market collapsed . . . i was able to rent my 3/2.5 out and I got a sweet studio on Ocean Drive/South Beach for $1075 bucks / month.

in G'boro the coolest place to live is probably downtown . . . and I really enjoy studio living. its really efficient. my electric bill is like $50 bucks a month.

I really like Greensboro, but I would never once claim that there is any tail anywhere close to the caliber of SOBE. I will say, however, that I went to the UNCG/Davidson game last night and fell in love with 3 chicks on the dance team. Who would have thought that hippie school had hot chicks?

But seriously, it all depends what you are into. Greensboro does not have a ton of options when it comes to packed bars and clubs, but the ones that are here are good. There is really only 1 "high class" club (Much/Heaven), and typically that place is PACKED with hot chicks. I'm just not the club type.

Strip joints are lacking, so if that's your thing you will have to sacrifice.

There are tons of little dive bars and sports bars, and plenty of good restaurants.

But most importantly, if you are going to be making $15k more with the option to move to a place with a MUCH lower cost of living, it's a no-brainer in my book. Plus, you can buy me a couple beers when you get here.

i'm weighing the option, brohab . . . but the killer is I'm single and I recall being single in NC as the worst pain a man could imagine. it was so hard to get quality pussy in NC. for good pussy in NC you have to import your own by marriage. that's the only way.

are you looking for random pussy or are you looking for a girlfriend?

if you are looking to settle down, as you said in the OP, then Greensboro would be a good move for you

if you just want to fuck random hot broads, then stay in SOBE.

however, if money is the motivator, then like I said, it's a no brainer

being single in GSO is a pain ONLY if you are antisocial. people are very friendly and willing to accept an outsider. i worked there for a while after college and did just fine in the social scene. i hung out with a mix of people from work and people i had befriended at bars and through friends of friends.

an extended social circle if you will.

it'll take a while. at least i felt safe walking the streets there late at night after the bars got out.

also the police are helpful and not looking to get you like in raleigh.

and don't forget the added advantage of being "the guy that just moved to the area and needs some ladies to show him around town"

on a side note: if you move to greensboro, bring some of that bomb ass Miami blow with you

I lived in GSO for a year and hated the single scene there

I guess overall I just found a lack of intelligence and sophistication in women in general in Greensboro.

^ same here . . . but women here are BEAUTIFUL ... only problem is all the rented Phantom's and Lambo's. it makes chicks ultra moist for some reason. +plus women here want a relationship to be like on the soap opera or like TV.

i'm up for the challenge, but I'm sort of tired of playing that game. i'd miss the beach and being walking distance from the Ocean.

i'm conflicted, B.

Yeah, the weather alone would be a shock. It does get pretty depressing around here in the winter time. But look at the bright side, you'd only be an hour from Raleigh

dude. Raleigh is a beautiful place. it's cool. it's forresty. if I was into Lord Of The Rings and carrying bait and tackle around and I had a bright red pickup or something Raleigh would be ideal.

I turned it down. told my boss I'd do it for 3-6 months, but not on a permanent basis. the only way I'd go is if I was packing my own bag of flavor pussy with me (wife or girlfriend).

i'm not risking going at it alone ... NYC or Washington D.C. I would do. those are the only places I can live other than South Florida. i've determined the rest of the country sucks.

so you are willing to pass up more money and a lower cost of living for hot hispanic broads that only care about what kind of car you drive?

seems like your priorities are a little out of whack

its not ... i mean the whole cost of living thing is not the issue. its the quality of living. in S. Florida you can live cheaply and have a better lifestyle than the same monies in Greensboro. I pay $1075/month for a sweet condo walking distance from the Ocean and the weather here is awesome all year around.

that alone is worth it in my opinion. if I made like $150K and drove an Audi R8 in Greensboro I doubt life would be any different than the money I make here and the Merc I drive. and I downgraded from a Bent GT and my lifestyle here is still the same minus the $1500/month lease I was paying on the GT. so sh!t is in fact better and my cost of living dramatically decreased.

i don't think G'Boro is worth it unless I brought my own pussy up there. that's all I'm saying.
