the joy they bring you in that time is worth the pain IMO. It's amazing how dogs (specifically) are so capable of living in the moment. they don't care what you look like, how much money you make, etc. they just love you for you because you are their master. my dog helps me enjoy the little things in life that are easily ignored.

I think you are missing out.

Its because they have an IQ of a lamp. Animals are just like computers. They have no soul and no mystical sense of anything beyond what goes in their stomachs.

I don't think majority of people "love" their pets. I believe they have a great fondness for, or development an attachment to, their pets. The experience one receives from raising an animal from baby to adult is truly awesome. You feed it, nurture it, teach it, you live through events together, and the list goes on.

Don't get me wrong, people who vomit about their pets all day make me want to vomit blood too, but the same could be said for anyone who obsesses over 1 single thing 24/7.
