To be fair...every team does it. I want to think that Gott has really emphasized rebounding and aggressiveness this year and that we're taking it a bit too far...but who knows. Either way...Vandy needs to watch it more carefully than others. When you're a 7-foot Lurch, those get called on you a little more often. And he's an important part of our team that doesn't need to be in foul trouble. Save those fouls for hacking Macadoo/Johnson/Meeks.

It just boggles my mind that recruits come into the program out of shape. Someone needs to be on their ass as soon as they commit. FSU is doing it right by planning all their meals and force feeding them supplements until they aren't hungry no more.

Watched the EKU game at work this morning...and he just keeps impressing. Decent defense down low (he still gets beat by a quick move), great hedging on ball screens, and above average rebounding and finishing.

If he can keep the fouls to a minimum, he's going to be huge for us this year. There are good big men in the ACC, but not many that can match his size (and his intensity this year). You can definitely tell he's pumped about playing and actually producing.

It's well documented that I've defended Vandy from ruthless criticism and had faith that in the end, he wouldn't be a "total waste of a scholarship" . Of course, it's still early in the season, but hopefully he can continue this into conference play.
