Naw, it's the meat seasoning and the tzatziki sauce that sets a good gyros apart from a great gyros. 7/19/2010 12:33:48 PM |

party in a pita is closed. They've gone back to the food-truck-only business plan. You can find them at just about any large outdoor event. Good people.7/19/2010 12:44:54 PM |

usually the big hunk o' meat is Doner Kebob (chicken stuck together to look like a giant leg of something, similar to deli cuts before they're cut) but Taza Grill has actually leg of lamb they shave off 7/19/2010 3:22:10 PM |

Yeah it's off Falls of the Neuse Rd.
speaking of quick greek food though, i'm a big fan of Jasmine Bistro (cary towncenter and hillsborough st). for Lebanese, I like Aladdin's Eatery off Falls of the Neuse. It's a chain, but a damn good one.7/19/2010 3:47:50 PM |

I like XIOS a lot. Like a lot. But the gyro is not one of their better offerings.
If you're going to go all the way to Apex, to a straight-up Greek restaurant, do yourself a favor, order something other than the gyro... Unless of course, you're a pussy, and don't like trying anything new... 7/19/2010 6:40:11 PM |

For gyros the best I can claim to have had is at Nur Deli, but now I am intrigued to try some of these other places.
However, for other Mediterranean food, it's Neomonde or bust. God, I miss the days when my buddy used to work there and would shamelessly give me $10 of food for 79 cents. 7/19/2010 6:44:40 PM |
