while i don't condone bragging about meaningless football accomplishments (spring game attendance, etc), i think a 9 win season including a 4th straight win over our rivals, a bowl win over a ranked team, and finishing in the top 25 poll is a pretty damn good accomplishment given the state of our football program since the Rivers era.

also, i'd say 25th out of 120 FBS teams is a bit better than mediocre, but that's just arguing semantics. it's definitely mediocre on a national stage.

Let's see what we can do this year. Next season will be the true litmus test of the state of our program. If we can manage at least an 8 win season, it won't just be a feeling of marked improvement anymore.

I think finishing 25th is a decent accomplishment considering where this team was in 2009...and while we shouldn't be content with barely sneaking in the top 25, it's not like UNC has done anything in the past 5-10 years to overshadow our accomplishments over the same time period.

^Yep...and like I posted on the last page, the series record in the ACC era (much more of a fair/relevant/current comparison) is 32-26 in favor of the UNC. Hardly domination...and if you want to look at the series record since 1990, they lead 11-10. That's pretty damn even. So for them to brag about only losing to us 3 times from 1894-1940 (6 ties, 3 NC State wins) is pretty pathetic.
