^ agree to above.

I felt the same way about Saber Cats.

I've killed a few dragons...and I was not going to touch those things.

Today, I must have been about 200 yards from a Cat, and I had an Exquisite Dwarven bow, so I thought I would give it a shot.

My aim was off, so it took a WHILE to actually hit the thing.

One shot...and DOWN.

Still won't touch a giant, though.

At level 30+, giants are not a big problem anymore. In fact they are a great way to raise your skills. Block a giant a few times and you raise your block, let a giant hit you a few times (keep some healing potions on hand) and you raise your armor.

see, this is the exact reason i didn't buy skyrim. I borrowed Oblivion from a friend to play and I've put in only 6 hours of gametime in a week and a half. It would take me forever to beat skyrim, and I'm not gonna spend 60 bucks on something I can only spend 6 hours every 2 weeks on right now.

However, the game looks beautiful and seems like its a blast to play. I'll get it at some point i'm sure

This game is definitely an ADHDers beautiful nightmare. I've got a lvl 12 dark elf mage with dual lightning. Nothing can stop me. The AI is still pretty awful and the amount of stuff in the game is unnecessary. I hate how dragons work but they need to focus on me rather than flying away and dieing to NPCs. All this hate yet it is still one of the best games I've played. I would waste time waste time with all the professions if I knew I was going to play through the game more than once

I wanna kill some of those Forsworn toolbags.

As long as you beat it before you get past level 35 or so you should be fine.

Destruction damage does not scale at all, thus it's broken at high levels.

That is pretty jacked up. It doesn't take much to make a decent set of armor and a good weapon in a short amount of time even at a low level.

You can go back to the city, but the guards will always be like "stop in the name of the jarl" and the dialogue only leads to "you need to go to jail. no one can escape our jail.... oh wait." Also, I went back into the Shrine of Talos in Markarth, and part of the "figure out the conspiracy" quest triggered again (i've completely finished it). One guard traps me in dialogue, two others attack, no matter what I do I end up running from Markarth with fifty guards chasing after me. I'm hoping all of this is a bug.

when i stopped at lvl 23ish i had a two handed hammer with base of 71+25flame, my armor rating is something like 230...

not sure if that's good but it was more than enough to take anything down with 3-5 good power attacks

i put all my perks in heavy and two handed and they are both around the 60s, archer is close behind at like 45 since i use it to aggro

wtf Lydia

We take the quest of the priest chick in Whiterun to go stab that big tree in the cave. Some dipshit tags along. In the course of fighting my way out of the cave, said dipshit gets in the way and starts attacking me. By the time I get back to Whiterun, Lydia is AWOL; can't find her in Dragonsreach or at the crib, and her body's nowhere in the tree cave.

Please come back, Lydia. You have some expensive stuff in your pockets.

you can call her up through the console if need be

i accidentally turned beast form on in the middle of my mission and my companion turned on me and i accidentally killed her, luckily she somehow just showed up later albeit she wasn't dressed in any of the armor or weaponry i gave her but as soon as i pressed "e" to talk to her she switched right back into it

Just go to jail. The conspiracy quest continues once you're in jail and (mild foreseeable spoiler) you get out eventually

*****SPOILER******

If you brought the guy, why did you fight your way out of the cave?

You talk to him, he gets pissed that you are going to stab the tree, says he wants no part of it, offers to pray to the tree, you get a sapling, he stays, you leave, nobody dies or gets hurt.

Well obviously I didn't talk to the guy after I got there

Just made my way up to the tree and did my business

When I went back to look for Lydia, that dude was the only one there. He said something about "I've fought better than you", so I killed him with my axe.

No. This is after the quest. All of the guards get stuck in dialogue loops, they don't ever actually take you to jail and at times they randomly decide to attack you and you get 50 guards chasing you down.

Well, part of the quest is that the leader down there is supposed to clear your name so...I don't know. I've been able to walk freely around the city no problem. The guards say shit like "oh wow what a conspiracy!!" but that's it

I finally decided to let Lydia out of her cage to see what she was made of. As I mentioned earlier, I was hesitant to let her come with me cause I didn't want her to die. So I was on a mission for the Thieves Guild and I brought her along. We get to the cave where we're going, and when I walk in it says that your companion isn't allowed to go with you for this mission. So afterwards I complete the mission and she rejoins me. About 2 minutes later we're walking along and get attacked by a snow bear and she dies.

Fucking spectacular.

1st mission with Lydia, I was in a fight with a few dozen guards and managed to kill them all, I turned to look at Lydia and saw that her health was almost gone. Instinctively (subconsciously?) I pulled the right trigger and sliced her in half.

Oh well.

Can you resurrect followers such as Lydia from the console? Or re-summon them if alive?

The AI in this game is fucking atrocious and she gets completely lost half the time we are running around the wilderness. One time she pulled a pack of a half dozen bandits down on us.

Plus she dies to seemingly weak enemies and always wants to jump in front of me while im attacking shit.

Oh and 'Stay here' only seems to apply if I am not fighting, otherwise she just runs on in ignoring my order.

So yeah, a way to resurrect my mule woman would be nice

Also, has anyone killed a dragon but gotten no soul? The corpse just sits there and does nothing?

Also also, I just did my first giant bounty. There were two of them and I had no problem. This was at level 29 so I imagine they are manageable far lower than even that.

^today i had that happen, i killed a dragon, but didn't get a soul, but thats the first and only time its happened so far, i got another dragon very soon afterwards and got its soul.

The only housecarl, or whatever you call the people that will follow you around and fight with you i've gotten so far is Lydia, and i hadn't been bringing her anywhere because i like to sneak, then i figured i would bring her with me to kill a dragon, and she got killed on the way by a frost troll.

It may be annoying when they jump in front of you while attacking, but at least they don't seem to turn on you when you accidentally hit them like they did every time they jumped in front of your attack in Oblivion, that was extremely frustrating.

And just to let everyone know, the side quests from the Bards college of finding some dudes Lute and another guy's drum are surprisingly rewarding, you get trained a whole level in like 6 different things for each

I'm glad I dont have the same troubles with Lydia that you all have, shes my MVP.

Where do you all sell your loot? For most items I just go to the appropriate vendors in Whiterun/the mage in Dragonsreach, but then I have a lot of trouble selling jewelry and random high value items that are more trinkets than anything, such as mammoth tusks, dwarven centurion dynamos, and gold dragon claw keys from some of the dungeons. The only vendor that will ake them is balathor's general goods, but at like a quarter of the value. Yeah yeah he has to make a profit, but is there another vendor who might take this shit? I think the alchemy shop takes mammoth tusks but I can't remember

I believe there is a speechcraft perk that gives the vendors a larger gold amount you can sell to.

There's a speech perk where you can sell anything to anybody. Without that, you'll just have to go to the general vendor (there's one in most cities) to sell random shit to.

I've noticed Lydia can take a lot of damage (more than I) and never dies.

The important thing is to NEVER hit her. The damage YOU inflict on her can kill her. The other NPCs, not so much.

Also, you can outfit her with any weapon or armor. After I made my Dragonscale Armor (Legendary) for myself, I gave her the Glass Armor (Legendary) I was wearing; same with the weapons for her.

Its neat how some bandit dungeons/instances repopulate themselves overtime

One open-air bridge I cleared near the beginning of the game restocked itself with higher level bandit mobs...no more loot though
