^^ So what that article is saying is, most likely "Oh hay, NIT"

Not surprised, but here's hoping for something awesome.

here's a highly unrealistic hypothetical

if we win the ACC tourney, what is our seed in the NCAA tourney? maybe a 5?

The tigers up 16 on Penn

Providence looks really bad, the hall might beat them by 30.

Not accurate, but they do have some bad teams. Remember that PC team beat Boston College by 8 this year...

I just dont follow the mid-major conferences much. I wasn't sure what a team with a losing record making the NCAA tourney is going to do to us.

saw these two links posted on PackPride. these three guys have some kind of formula they use to predict the NCAA tourney teams...they say it's 94% accurate. kinda neat.http://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm

http://blogs.sas.com/content/sascom/2012/03/01/pack-mentality-countdown-to-ncaa-has-ncsu-on-edge/

also, lundardi's latest bracketology http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology:
Quote :
"Last Four In
Northwestern
Seton Hall
Drexel
Xavier
First Four Out
Texas
Tennessee
Oregon
NC State
Next Four Out
Miami
Iona
Arizona
Saint Joseph's"

i still don't understand northwestern and drexel being ahead of us.

Current Live-RPI (for a few teams relevant to us making the tourney):

43. Iona
48. Northwestern
51. Oregon
52. Texas
53. NC State
55. Seton Hall
56. Miami
57. St. Joe's
58. Xavier
65. Drexel
75. Tennessee
84. Arizona
94. Stanford

Let's walk through this. 94% of 64 is ~60. Meaning they get 4 wrong on average.

Since the bubble watch usually only involves 4-8 teams, anyway, that means they are probably getting only half the bubble teams right.

So, you can flip a fucking coin on all the bubble watch teams and be just as accurate as their formula.

like two pages late on this, but those march madness uniforms would be a lot cooler on a team that i, you know, expected to do anything special this march.

Word Lunardi, 10 Big east teams?

Like I'm supposed to believe that

Connecticut
Seton Hall
and West Virginia are all supposed to get in?

a couple years back the big east deserved all those bids, now it feels like they're just getting bids just for being massive.

They are the SEC of basketball hadn't you heard?

I feel like UCONN vs. WVU this afternoon should be basically a play in game for those two.

UConn is 34th RPI with 5 RPI top 50 wins and the 2 SOS in the country. They are a lock. WVU is 43rd and a lock. Hall is 60 and dicey IMO though they do have 4 top 50 wins compared to our zero..

Re: UConn they played half the season without their coach and without their starting PG. these things are also taken in to consideration but their resume alone is that of a lock.

As for the UConn thing, their punishment will probably be the 2013 tournament. They did the same thing with UNLV, delaying their punishment so they could defend their title.

Except that isn't part of their punishment at all, so it's not true. Google UConn APR, it's not too difficult.

It says they are ineligible for the 2013 tournament because of their APR, so I'm a bit confused what you mean.

they definitely said during UCONNs first round game that they are ineligible to compete in the 2013 NCAAT. Said that would be a big factor in Drummond, Lamb and Calhoun's decisions to come back next year

^^ it's not delayed. It's for that season and has nothing to do with any violations that they are on probation for.

Ideal situation for us is probably uconn beats WV then loses next round, that way they both finish w/ losing records against the conference. Even in a good conference its hard to pick a team with a losing record in conference.

If UConn wins, they are in. Despite the losing record, they have a 34 RPI, 2 SOS, and 6-6 against the RPI Top 50.

does UConn run an offense? looks like Calhoun just rolls the ball out and tells them to go. they've got size to be good defensively though.

LOL at that WVU white guy's shot
