I mean, 5% daily swings are nothing in this world. Are you really trading based on anticipation of that small of a move?

No, I was saying I agreed with you and thats why I put selloff in quotations. It didn't actually happen. 5% was on par with the markets that day.

I think it might have something to do with people like dtownral not knowing how to claim their LCC, the wallet coming out late or maybe the money that went into litecoin was more about litepay and less about LCC than we thought.

i'm definitely not alone in not trusting LCC and not willing to make any effort to get it even for free

Everything they do is supported by peer-reviewed research. As a scientist, this sounds appealing, but I worry that it might put them behind in the fast-moving crypto world.

Makes sense a few months after I buy into crypto it goes into its longest downward cycle in history.

Also iota is not fully decentralized is my understanding and still is insecure.

this hickup is bcause facebook and google don't want to see the status quo go. They can't stop crypto though, they can only slow it down momentarily...

yeah we never left, TT10 is just playing the short game.

I can't believe bitcoin cash is being promoted. It initially took off because people mistook it for bitcoin. The other day, someone wrote an article saying to buy it and people rushed to buy it. Its nothing special but the new hardfork allows it to do simple smart contracts. This is like the litecoin rally all over again. I expect to see both out of the top 10 by the end of the year.

EOS is getting ready to move into the top 4 though. The other gen 3 coins (iota, cardano, neo) shouldn't be far behind.

coinbase says 3 days deposit but after 9 days my deposit has just went through. eos was around $9 when i made that post and deposit and now its at an ath of $19. Sometimes i feel like coinbase is investing deposits during bull markets.

In plain English: "If you stand to win $10 for betting $1 and the probability of winning is 50% do you take the bet? What about $1 to win $38 and a 5% chance?"

$1 to win $38 is roughly the proportion of $6500 to $250K.

I asked a specific whether you'd do it if you thought it was a 5% chance. The follow up is what you think it is yourself.

^^^^^
That would make the stock of bitcoins worth more than all the dollars on the planet if I'm not mistaken. While there is technically no limit to how high a bubble can go, the higher it is the less likely it is to stay there. Sell.

Think back to the time one building in Tokyo sold for more money than all the property in New York City. Bubbles happen. Just means the price is meaningless.

By my calculations, $250k BTC would be roughly 1/2 the US money supply.

I've got a friend who's heavily involved in the crypto community, probably has hundreds of thousands invested in crypto, has been actively advocating for it on social media telling people to buy into crypto.

But then recently was looking for investors to buy action on a poker tournament, he wouldn't accept payment in crypto because it was too inconvenient.

If anything kills crypto it's this... if even die-hard advocates with a lot invested in the ecosystem cant use it for actual payments, then it can never grow.

i'm trying to decide if I should sell now and essentially break even, or wait for maybe another bubble and try to sell then. Either way I have zero faith in crypto long term-- does anyone have any reason to believe otherwise?

I know nothing about crypto, but i feel as the years go on, PC equipment and processors getting better, allowing you to mine faster/better, thus driving down prices... just get out now.

^^ yah it seems like that's already built into the system. Over time, currency units get harder to mine based on existing currency units.

I don’t think crypto is dead, but I don’t think it’s going to start rising again for maybe 2 years

Painful to see it keep dropping though, thankfully I can afford to keep riding it out. Lots of lessons learned...
