CTS Sportwagon (again). 2010-2011 models can now be had for not much over 20K...very well might be the eventual replacement for the Crown Vic. Really more a large hatch than a wagon given the steep rake of the C-pillars, but if it can fit a stroller in back (for when the time comes, no bun in the oven yet) we just might be in business.

2015 SS sedan gets 6 speed and magnetic ride suspension. It should have atleast gotten the LS7. I'm sure it will now cost well into the 50's.

Pig compared to what? Good luck finding another sedan of similar performance and size that weighs less. For instance, a BMW 550i weighs just shy of 400lbs more.

Don't mention BMW's being heavy, the world will end ITT.

The SS isn't a huge turd, its a 4000lb sedan that runs a 12.5-12.6 1/4 mile. My problem with it is Chevy refusing to go all in on it. The car is a niche car, not many people want a V8, gas guzzling family sedan. Make it a truly badass car, give it CTS-V power, with a cheaper price tag.

I test drove one, its nice, but no way is that car worth 48k.

Lol I'm just being a jackass today :-)

Nothing luxury is light anymore at all.

I would love to see ford build some kind of fusion siZed car on the new mustang chassis.

1. So I can drive one
2. For Aussie super car racing
3. So I can drive one
4. Because it will be lighter then the ss and tunable
5. So I can drive one
6. To have a better cop car replacement then the Taurus
7. So I can drive one
8. Because there is no rwd 4 door in fords line up
9. So I can drive one
10. The coyote and the ecoboost 6 could corner this market easily in hp and mpg.
11. So I can drive one
12. Lincoln could have a version to challenge the cts and cts-v
13. So I can drive one
14. Mkix would be sick on such a chassis
15. So I can have one

Not really, however, I do own one. I've seen them do quite well on road courses with a good setup and experienced driver. Many Mazda parts overlap across their fleet*, so upgrading and finding replacement components aren't that hard and are reasonably priced. HP mods are a little more pricey and labor intensive since the community isn't as strong as Honda's, but I like that the MX6 is less common than the civic. It is, after all, the last non-rotary coupe offered by Mazda. It's hard finding a clean example since most are in poor shape or distastefully modified.

I think they are good looking for their era. My only disappointment is the wrong wheel drive.

*2006 MazdaSpeed 6 12.6" rotors and calipers bolt up directly to the 1997 MX-6, replacing the original 10.2" setup. Even though the MS6 is discontinued, the Ford Fusion Sport uses the same caliper as the MS6, but with different adapters to fit 11" rotors on the Ford. Though still a single piston setup, this is a huge big brake upgrade for cheap.

** VCC and other EGR components on the MX-6 were used in cars as new as the 2009 RX8, among others...

It was widely regarded as one of the best looking coupes of it's day (compared to most other reasonably priced cars). Too bad it wasn't available with the turbo engine that the previous generation had. Would be a lot easier to make power if it was

Also that's a nice lift throttle oversteer photo, lol.

Am I crazy for thinking about these?

I know service isn't cheap but these cars are tanks. Plus my family had one while I was growing up so there's some sentimental value. These cars more or less last forever too. For $3000 doesn't seem like much risk.

I mean, that's the car equivalent of "she's hot...too bad she's a lesbian." That "only disappointment" is kind of a big thing. You can build 1000 bridges, but you eliminate one rear differential...

I mean I wanted an mx6 as my first car. And I always thought if the mustang looked like the probe in the 90s you couldn't keep them on the lot.

I just didn't know they really stood the test of time.

You like the general shape and style of the MX6/Probe, but you wish it was RWD and better supported by the aftermarket?

…So…

You basically want an S14?

^Basically But it's hard finding an S14 that's clean and unmollested where the buyer isn't asking $7k-$10k. I could never find one for around $4k or less that was clean, manual transmission, accident free and with a clean title...

A lot of people also compare the MX6 to the Lexus SC300, but those were only automatics... I'd rather have a FWD manual over an automatic slushbox...

The MX6 has a nice FR driving dynamic while being a FF layout. It's not a complete deal breaker, but it's not like I can power drift the car around when there's wet empty roads like I could the 944 or other RWD cars. Aside from that, I enjoy it's behavior in turnpikes and cloverleafs. The chasis is predictable and easy to balance between oversteer and understeer. If I want more oversteer while in a corner, I give it more throttle... The only reminder that it's FWD in that situation is the steering feedback and the small amount of torquesteer.

This is really sexy

I will agree that the mx6 although very similar does look better than an s14.

Now an s15 that we never got :-/ that's a sexy beast.

Be sure you read the fine print - like how many rpm's you can rev to/speed/etc.
