meh, the dads should fight...this is a situation where it makes sense to fight

or the other parents should get to slap the slapper's child

these are the only two reasonable solutions

What exactly is your issue with this? Mopads are a rolling rode block with no insurance.

Not to mention a lot of people that get license revoked (DWI for example) get on mopads because they have no insurance requirement. Insurance/license should be mandatory for any vehicle we have to share the road with. Guess what happens if a mopad hits you. You get to file a claim against your insurance, have them pay for it and raise your rates.

At best they need to make it where you cant ride a moped on a road with a speed limit over like 25 or something.

Great now this message board is over run with dripping gaping vagina's....

Why should I have to pay more taxes for DMV workers to keep track of some stupid fucking losers scooter insurance? What is next??? Paying taxes, tags, insurance, and registration for roller blades, skateboards, and bicycles??? What about power wheels for children? Kids are driving those in circles around cul-de-sac streets all over the state? What if they fuck up someones flowers around their mailbox WHO WILL PAY THE CLAIM OMG!?!?!?

Do you really think the minuscule amount of tiny claims made against random auto policies is costing more time/money than more government bureaucracy will?

Can't we all just agree that the broke motherfuckers and drunks driving scooters need a way to get to work at their shit jobs and the store to get 40's that does not involve them sneaking around driving cars with no license?

Texas boy suspended for saying he could make classmate ‘disappear’ with ‘Lord of the Rings’ sorcery

Two of the disciplinary actions this year were in-school suspensions for referring to a classmate as black and bringing his favorite book to school: "The Big Book of Knowledge.""

when I was in elementary school, I broke a CD-ROM in the library, and they made me walk around with the janitor after school and help empty garbage cans. however, breaking the CD-ROM was a pretty big deal.

for minor crimes, I'm not really comfortable with forcing kids to do janitorial work. it is demeaning, and it's bad for your soul. I'd be more comfortable with whipping them, actually. toughen them up.

Picking up garbage is not inherently humiliating. It's only humiliating if you tell someone it is.

it's the lowest form of human labor. it's an impermanent, unskilled job that brings you into close contact with disgusting shit, which other people have decided they don't want around. indeed, that's the job description: "I want you carry away this disgusting shit, so other people won't have to be around it." for me, the unskilled, impermanent, other-serving, and (above all) inherently disgusting nature of in-person waste-disposal make it a degrading job, if any job is.

You fucked up. You're supposed to feel humiliated.

Next thing you know, if a teacher calls out a student for something, and the other kids are like "ooooooh you're in troubllllllle" those kids will be suspended for humiliating and bullying the kid.

I feel like forcing a kid to perform cleaning duties is not only humiliating, but degrading. I'm okay with moderate humiliation, but not degradation. Forcing a kid to do janitorial work almost falls under the heading of "cruel and unusual punishment," for me.

degrading? he/she is a child, they haven't yet earned status in which anything is degrading. and since when is cleaning degrading? it's part of what we all do every day. srsly?

Yea, if you think your child cleaning up is degrading, what about the poor bloke whose job it is to do the cleaning. I guess you consider these folks beneath you.

You should be thankful your child gets to appreciate all types of jobs.

^^ being forced to clean up after other people is degrading. if they're your parents or housemates, fine; and if the work isn't too disgusting, then fine; but I don't agree with forcing kids (n school) to undertake the nastier kinds of cleaning.

on reflection, though, ima backpedal somewhat. as long as the cleaning doesn't involve really disgusting shit - grime, mold, etc - I'm fine with it. but only parents should be allowed to force them into this kind of cleaning, like toilets and refrigerators. but I'm okay with making them wipe floors and chalkboards.

I read the article, and read the quote from the parent "My son has been humiliated and he’s frightened to go to school, and he feels sorry and has some esteem issues" and that pushed me to the other side.

"forced to clean up..." nobody forced him/her, it's called punishment...a.k.a. retribution for your actions.
