my roommate is clipping his nails and i can still hear it with my headphones turned most of the way up

eating loudly, clinking dishes, and tapping fingers are also pretty unbearable

I was once in the library sitting at the long wooden tables with a guy sitting diagonal near the week of finals, so it is crowded, and he starts clipping his finger nails very meticulously !!!!

I paniced because I wanted to stab him, and I looked around and people were giving him the stink eye but no one seemed nearly as bothered as me and not willing to say anything.... then I blew up and yelled can you PLEASE stop that ? as scary/nice as possible with the scary smile.

then I left because I felt sickened by the number of finger nails strewn across the table and I was mad that I had let it get to me.



also my office mate has an affinity for soup (or at least his wife packs him lots of soup) and everyday at lunch, every spoonful .... sluuuurp... uggggggh I leave the room in mid-sentence once the daily ritual commences.

I get annoyed by other sounds sometimes, but misophonia is on a different level. I hate things like this that make me think, "If I didn't know what this feels like I'd totally assume someone who said they felt it was crazy."

I know the series of events/thoughts that triggered mine. But so far I haven't met anyone else who could identify that. Anyone else?

there are varying levels. i think there are too many "disorders" though and it's really a symptom of anxiety

THIS! I can't fucking stand it. I worked with a guy that slurped his tea and soup every day. I literally had to leave the room every time he had those things.

even worse, a guy at work that is actually a pretty decent guy, has the most annoying habits regarding his computer. He sighs heavily ALL THE FUCKING TIME when his computer slows to a crawl or doesn't respond fast enough. That's almost ok, but then he usually follows it up with a verbal complaint and slamming his mouse against the desk five or six times in a row or clicking it very hard five or six times. I want to throw my monitors at him
