Right on.

TJ had the quietest 19 points I can ever remember, but I love this guy. His touch around the basket is uncanny

TJ Warren is the man. Ever since I listened to the broadcasts of the games in Spain, I've been excited about what ge can do for us. But dude will go pro after this season or next season.

29-41 in his last 4 games I think. Over 70%. His offense is pretty ridiculous. I appreciate

is a straight biatch and howell, the coach, and ESPN showed all of us it tonight. Like I said with when he comes to the bench and never listens to coach, doesn't high five anyone trying to high five him. Where does this kids attitude come from?

his attitude comes from the frustration of beating two top competitors and following those up to losing to scrub schools we should be wiping the floor with.

it doesn't make it right, and he has some growing up to do in how he shows his frustration... but that's where it's coming from.

Last night his frustration was coming from getting ABUSED on D the entire game. That was his worst defensive game I've seen out of him. The guy he was trying to guard was killing him and you could tell he was gassed down the stretch and started picking up lazy fouls. He's very inconsistent, 20 points one game, 3 the next. I think most of his frustration/immaturity is an age thing, he'll get better next year. I don't know why he's so slow to be receptive to guidance from our veterans and our coach.

You were getting abused on D Warren, if Howell or any other player that's been around 2-3 more years than you tries to tell you ways to improve, you shut up and listen and learn.

TJ is young and a little stupid, but he will be great if he learns to LISTEN.

yeah, i can totally understand his frustration. i've been there when i've been getting abused in church leagues, rackin' up mad techs and sour faces. just some immaturity and frustration, nothing to be blown up out of proportion. at least he's passionate.

If you actually watch the games face instead of reading the box scores, you'd see why he called him that. Several times throughout games he's shown a bad attitude to his teamates and to his coaches. He did it multiple times last night, including shunning Howell, who showed visible frustration with him, and ignoring the coaches on the bench. I hope it's just immaturity and he's just mad with himself. I still appreciate him, dude is awesome, but I hope he gets a better attitude and becomes a better teammate.

I don't recall ever reading anything from you that would indicate you actually watch the games, or that you're sober enough to remember anything specifically about them.

Right. That's why you've referred to our incoming commit "Washington" as "Woodson" multiple times, even after being corrected. Great memory.

agree with LudaChris - you're a freshman, and your senior teammate has played 3 years of college ball and is trying to help you. Shut the hell up and listen. We know you're frustrated and passionate. But come on man, show some damn respect.

i really hope that TJ doesnt turn into a bad apple. i love the way he plays, but the retweet and what happened last night are some bad things. and i was hoping he would show something with his start. maybe his starting performance will help him realize that he can really help off the bench. he could be a star next year.

Not CJ Leslie ?@NotCJLeslie
tough loss to UVA, we were down a key player...we definitely woulda won if TJ could have suited up today

How about when Rich got so mad at TJ for not listening you could read the lips say "get the fuck out of my face man" aka meaning he ISN'T listening. When he comes out the entire bench tries to high five him, he doesn't (everysingledamngame) that's a terrible attitude.

Let's talk about TJ a bit. Cuz, not gonna hate here but he has been very inconsistent during league play. Is this a frosh thing? did Hodge go through it as well?

i think both TJ and Rodney have recently (last 2-3 games) hit a "freshman wall" and gone through some slumps

but I'll continue my pre/early season sentiments that Purvis is better

because even when his game has struggled, just like TJ's, he keeps playing great defense

and i'll also continue to say that I'm very glad to have both of them on the team

but imo people got too caught up in TJ's scoring and crowned his ass too early

we're basing it on the whole season. Purvis has had a nightmare freshman season, warren has been a god send.

This is like comparing Mason Plumlee to McAdoo

up until this game, Warren didn't rebound or play defense

he was basically Brandon Jennings or Michael Redd

even if he is, a couple weeks ago the general sentiment on here was either

Purvis>Warren>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lewis

or

Warren>Purvis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lewis

sports talkers opinions on players are about as reactionary as game thread posts

I don't think anyone ever thought Purvis was better than Warren.

How could they? Purvis has only played well against crappy teams

^^generally i agree, but unlike Howell, etc, he always has the potential to do something like this

^both of them basically sucked the last 5-6 games...freshman wall or whatever...but prior to that, Warren was the better scorer, but Purvis actually played defense and hustled...nobody would ever say Purvis was a better scorer, but defense and effort are also aspects of being a better player

[Edited on February 19, 2013 at 10:25 PM. Reason : Purvis played better than Warren did versus Miami]
