^^Why are you saying something like that, instead of giving credit to our defense? Our defense was the toughest Clemson has met so far this year.

or our D was aggressive and forced turnovers and we ourselves still did everything we could to lose...missed FGs, penalties. we didn't play perfectly and still outplayed them.

yea lol that we didnt go toe to toe. remember the goal line stand? AS somebody said, they may have gained yards but they dang sure paid for it b/c he were HITTING on saturday. We also laid down Watson a few times.

if he is our best qb thats pretty sad b/c that was a piss poor throw. a better throw and thats a td.

I mean from 3-9 it is hard to go anywhere but up. In year five we might be at the level TOB had us.

Great job.

It's hard to give guy much credit for playing a tough schedule one year when he played a DII schedule every other year

he doesn't get credit for the schedule...it's just a factor that must be considered when setting expectations.

just like last year we were not a good team, but shitty schedule means that we can get 7 wins and a bowl game.

I'm not sure it really matters. Barring a huge collapse he's going to do enough this year to stick around. The real measure of his status will be next season when his first full class (and most of our defense) are Seniors. If he can't deliver with that team it's unlikely he'll do better replacing them. I'm skeptical we'll be much better without Dayes (and likely Samuels) but eh, that's what Doeren's apparently set for himself according to the announcers last game.

LOLOLOLOLOL at anyone yearning for the TOB tenure. Yeah, he had a couple decent seasons, but it is indisputable that we were on a steep downward trajectory when he was fired. And that was his fault. Let's not talk about him anymore. Holy shit.

if gallaspy and frasier can keep the running game going next year the offense should be in good shape. harmon and louis with hines looks to be a great trio of receivers (plus ramos and the other receivers we have whose names escape me who got medical redshirts this year), and we have finley for two years after this. and i don't think samuels would leave, but who knows.

Really doubt Samuels goes anywhere. He's a great fit for our offense, but he's too small to be a pro TE or FB and not fast enough to be a RB. I'd say try him at RB next year, but he's too valuable in his hybrid TE/FB role.

I think the point he is making is that we offered a scholarship to a guy who can't even make half of his FGs in high school. Not the best talent identification.

-27 missed FG credibility points.

I don't think that's right for Bambard. He was considered a top 20 kicker by various sites, also it sounds like he crushes in practice but struggles in game.

Still think it's about confidence for the kid. Had he hit the game-winner against Clemson he's probably fine the rest of the season, but now, he's gotta be toast mentally.

Kickers that attend camps generally come away with higher ratings. Because no one gives a fuck about going to camp for kicking.

Looks like he actually was 24-51 on FG attempts in his high school career.

Is that good for high school?

• Senior Stats: Made 11-of-18 field goals and averaged 37.3 yards on 27 punts. Converted 47 of 48 PAT attempts. Completed 112-of-188 passes (.596) for 1,721 yards with 21 TDs and only five INTs. Also rushed for 1,458 yards (average of 9.7 per carry) and 14 TDs.

i will say the discipline issue is strictly on the coach but when you are trying to out prepare teams with so much more talent, you can't focus so much on discipline.

We could focus on discipline and plan to lose by multiple tds or we could try to win without spending as much time focusing on discipline. Priorities.

Seems like it would be really dumb to fire a coach as much improvement as we've shown.

Plus we've got guys starting to understand the system and recruiting would take a big step back. You fire guys when the program is moving in the wrong direction.

It's actually quite impressive to field a team that's borderline top 25 without a good qb or many skill players.

Right now we are paying for giving TOB those last 2 years instead of firing him while the wheels were falling off the program. I don't wanna go through another brutal rebuild. Things are really looking up this year and those two Jacoby years looked promising to me considering we had very little talent around him.

With a good qb, some depth and experience, and doeren learning in game coaching this looks like a top 25 program to me.

You aren't gonna be able to judge us on just wins/losses for a few years playing in a division with clemson, fsu, and louisville. It doesn't help that UNC was able to build a program by cheating and didn't really get hit with sanctions to penalize them. That's the main reason we are struggling as its tough for us both to be good at the same time while the SEC and Clemson cherry pick our state as well for 4 and 5* guys.

A rising tide lifts all boats. The ACC is stronger than its been in my entire lifetime and we are just starting to benefit from that. We've got a chance to build a Nationally competitive program so I don't understand why we would blow it up right now for a rebuild while things are still clearly moving in the right direction.

You don't really think we should be competitive this week, do you? We played clemson last week. We were 20 point dogs today.

Jackson is a god and Finley Is having an awful game even by his standards.

We are on the road against a top 5 program. You want us to be competitive both weeks? We aren't exactly Alabama guys

If I'd told you two weeks ago we'd get blown out in one game and outplay our opponent in the other one you'd have bet against that, right?

Look we had plenty of opportunities to get rid of TOB when the ship was sinking and we were getting nothing but the dredge of 2* recruits but we let him play it ALL THE WAY DOWN. This is what we were screaming about. We knew the cupboard was bare. Jacoby saved us some embarrassment as NFL level QBs tend to do. We don't have one of those this year if you guys haven't noticed. Yet the team is markedly improved.

UL murdered FSU at home too and FSU has 5x the talent that we do. There are maybe 3-4 teams in the nation that could beat this UL team at home. We got our shit pushed in, oh well, hope we recover and crush BC next week

Yeah exactly, fsu got murdered in this game.

We are coming off our best performance in a decade and people are upset we lost to a top 5 team on the road who had extra days off this week.

Also don't forget we may have prematurely ended Louisville season last week, of course they were gonna come out fired up this week they have to blow every team out from here on out to get in

Forgot about the clemson win a few years ago. That was plain ridiculous. It was so weird I blacked it out of memory.

I was exaggerating on the decade a bit but looking at it closer it's probably still our 2nd best performance.

Had forgotten about the Glennon comeback against fsu since I watched that one alone at home. The ponder fumble was a nice win but that was a home game too we weren't as big of dogs either game.

Russell Wilson singlehandedly beating unc was probably my favorite football game in this otherwise miserable 16 year run, but not as impressive as our near clemson road win. They might win the title for God's sake and we had them beat on the road

It would have been our most impressive win since beating Weinke's FSU squad. Those FSU and Clemson teams of that era we beat them in were known for "clemsonning"

Apathy is the best thing that's happened to the program. Keep the money coming in for parking passes and just keep DD around for a few more years until we decide to get serious about competing again.

Our team is pretty solid all around.

Our fan base is just accustomed to great quarterback play. Wilson, Rivers, Glennon, and Brissett have ruined expectations.

You can't expect to win the ACC if you can't throw the ball efficiently in 2016. It's a GIANT handicap.

That said, our play calling in the red zone is terrible.
