^ don't be rediculous. The North Koreans want money and material in exchange for better behavior. They don't really care much about the sanctions or American presence in the south. If anything, their behavior would only get worse in the name of attention seeking if America pulled out and lifted all sanctions.

China is supposedly turning around coal shipments from North Korea and claiming they wont buy anymore this year. If Trump managed to convince the Chinese to cut off the main NK export and replace it with US coal, that would be a significant move.

Lol, if he got a concession like that do you think he'd have the self control to avoid blaring it out across every medium he could possibly get on?

This guy has been loudly taking credit for every job created even those decided years ago.

China's unhappiness with NK pre-dates Trump and has nothing to do with him

Why do you think they want attention? They really just want to survive and prosper. We should allow them because that would drastically improve the quality of life for millions of poor people in North Korea. Yes, it would also improve their military power, but that shouldn't be an issue as long as we take a policy shift towards peace at any cost.

You might say "but what if they invade the south" then its war which would be the worst-case scenario under a shift towards peace but war is the only end result under our current course of action so why not give peace a chance?

Also, with more aid and openness, the people of DPRK would be more likely to demand more rights, and the government, under a renewed sense of security would be more likely to ease restrictions on human rights.

I'm still waiting for one news outlet to mention the atrocities committed against North Korea without them doing anything to us.
-Wiped out 20% of the population
-Drop 30,000 tons of napalm
-Fire-bombed civilians including all urban centers
-Targetted irrigation systems, water systems, dams and farmland

The country is what it is today as a result of American war crimes. Sure they spread a lot of lies and propaganda, but it all stems from the truths listed above. I'm sick of the stupid corporate media painting them to be irrational maniacs. Its worn out. If they were so irrational, they would have done something crazy by now like dropped an atomic bomb on Japan or invaded another country.

Once again, the "who started it" line doesn't excuse the mass escalation and atrocity that followed.

South Korea was just an American proxy that was actively draining resources from the North on behalf of wall street during a critical time in the development of a nation. The South would not exist without the US. They were crushed in the civil ( aka none of our business) war. The will of the people was not to support the American puppet.

The fact that arrogance behind the notion that the US is entitled to drawing (and then enforcing) the world's political maps is more psychotic than anything that goes on in Korea today.

Its not "for me". it was the best case scenario for any life-loving human. That is what had already happened. The war was essentially over and Korea would have been unified. How many people have to die to do it wall street's way?

[Edited on April 17, 2017 at 4:42 PM. Reason : 4 million plus however many have died since then and however many will die in the next war]

[Edited on April 17, 2017 at 4:45 PM. Reason : My cheap electronics at the expense of starving north koreans is the best scenario for me. ]

Its also worth noting that the US tested minuteman ICBM last week but not one word from the media. I'm not saying it was scandalous, but don't you think it should at least be part of the discussion? Imagine the coverage if Iran or NK had done the same scale test?

Quote :
"We should also note that there is a double standard in US condemnation of North Korean missile tests. There is no international law against missile tests. It is every country’s sovereign right to do so. Also, the US consistently tests missiles. Just in 2015 alone, the US conducted tests of the Minuteman III, which is an ICBM, five times. So there is definitely a double standard at play here."

So the idiot doesn't know who the NK leader is. He said today that Obama and Bush have been dealing with the leader for a long time, when the leader only came to power in 2011.

IOW, he thinks it is still Kim Jong-il

Not sure there is another way to interpret this series of quotes from Pence aside from regime change. Or unification.

Does NK even have the capability to sink a US carrier?

They'd have to find it first. That requires what? Coastal radar (carrier likely out of range), aircraft reconnaissance, space-based reconnaissance, or something else? Do they have those assets?

If they can find the carrier they have to be able to throw enough ordnance at it to overwhelm the anti-air and anti-missile defenses. Does NK have enough aircraft with sufficient strike range? Do they have guided missiles?

I suppose subs could do it but they'd have to be quiet and likely numerous.

This war just can't happen but it seems like it will. I don't know how to explain it or what they are trying to get out of us with the media coverage but it would certainly be a generation killer of greater magnitude than Iraq or Vietnam. It won't happen I'm going to study the markets tomorrow to confirm key indicators that the war is NOT going to happen. It can't happen. All rhetoric to distract us from something else.

Not that its happening but if it is:

Are we ready to drop every issue and organise the largest disruptive protest the world has ever seen?
Is canada going to close their border?
Is amazon going to set an account limit for potassium iodate?

Could be a spectacle, it's how Trump has run the presidency so far-- from one empty spectacle to the next.

Flynn facing criminal charges could be damaging. At they very least it shows the abysmal judgement of Trump to put someone Obama fired, who was so fundamentally compromised, into his inner circle.

If somehow Trump were given go ahead for a major war, this would be a travesty and a epic historical blunder.

Aggressive regime tests 2nd nuclear capable ICBM in less than a week!
This sort of saber rattling may be grounds for a preemptive strike against the brutal leader.

The mysterious leader may sense his power slipping and with internal problems brewing, he could make more aggressive moves to galvanize support

Targeted assassinations are illegal. Biochemical weapons are also banned right? The Chinese are the leading trading partner of this oppressive regime and I'm wondering if after learning about this assassination plot, if they will proceed with sanctions are at the very least, minimize the amount of trade and loans they have propping up the regime.

This combined with the two ICBM tests in the last two weeks is really calling for a preemptive strike. The madman is getting older and possibly demented. He really is a danger to peace everywhere at this time and is completely unpredictable. Something must be done soon!
