Been interviewed on/provided political commentary on local and statewide newspapers, blogs, radio, and television, and being a part of the home-state delegation for the DNC that got me on some national coverage too.

My son was on an episode of NBC's The Doctors and as his mother, I was of course filmed and interviewed. He got a full 12 minutes of fame.

I was contacted.

Thymus transplantation had been in the national news around that time and the show and Duke PR had been in contact with one another about doing a segment for a new show (The Doctors had yet to air at that time.). Duke PR then contacted our doctor and asked her if she thought any of her transplant patients would be good for the show. Dr. Markert named us and then Duke PR contacted us asking if we'd be interested in doing an interview.

I worked as a traffic reporter (MetroNetworks/Westwood One) on radio (and few tv reports) here in the Triangle for about 4 years from 99-end of 2003. It was fun for awhile. Now as a hobby I am one of 10 nationwide beta testers for a company that makes police scanners. It ain't much but *shrug*

^No, no they're not. You're thinking of Lexington BBQ, which, yes, it is vinegar based. But I don't consider Lexington BBQ as being western NC BBQ. Western NC BBQ is smoked, shredded, usually served without having any sauce mixed in. You do the mixing with whatever sauce is at the table. One of my favorite western NC BBQ joints unfortunately does not make their own sauce. They use Cattleman's, which is ok, but I wish they would be more original.
