None, actually. It was probably one of the stupider things I've done, I thought he was trying to cross the street so I waved him on, but he was completely empty handed other than a lighter, high as balls, and wanted to go to right across the street from where I was going anyway, so it worked out.

the only argument to make pot legal is that beer is legal. But other than that it still takes you out of your normal capacity to the extent that you could make the argument that it should be illegal.

there are plenty of reasons to legalize marijuana that have nothing to do w/ the fact that it's orders of magnitude safer than other legal vices.

and did yuffie_chan just blame her decision to pick up a stranger in her car on having had too much to drink? i'd say picking the other person up was at least the second worst decision you were making at the time.

I figured we were all gonna pretend it was that sweet spot where you're drunk enough to pick up men who don't even need rides but not too drunk to drive in the rain.

^^, that was mostly a joke, but ^ has a fair point and it's probably the case. It was also ~2:30am. I was pretty sober at that point, and felt sorry for the guy. I thought he was trying to cross, so I waved him on then rolled down the window to tell him to go ahead as I didn't know if he saw me, and he said he was actually hoping someone might give him a ride. He looked safe enough, and two different people were waiting for me, in case anything went wrong.

Again, probably one of the stupider things I've done in my life. Also, let's remember that I'm 21, he was also college aged, and sleepy and high people don't pose that much of a threat

i don't even think picking up a stranger is a dumb decision. the odds are in your favor that they're not going to kill you.

driving drunk isn't really a "fuck it i'm young" type of bad decision.

I wasn't driving drunk. I had been drunk about two hours prior and on the road for a decent while as I was dropping people off.

And he technically didn't need a ride, but he was asking for one, he had his thumb out.
I just looked up the distance, it was actually a bit over a mile. The ride request is more reasonable.
