Really, it should be a combination of both. But...for the sake of argument:

What makes JJ's awesome (to me) is their bread...it's amazing.

However, I like Jersey Mike's cold cuts better. Especially their roast beef.

I hope that wasn't in reference to JJ vs Subway, as both the bread and the ingredients suck at Subway.

7==5. ITT. If you don't like subway you must not know how to design a sammich. Footlong meatball on Italian herb cheese. Sweet pepper etc.

I stand by my opinion, however I admittedly haven't had much experience with Jimmy John's. (literally twice maybe 5 years ago) I will try it soon and report back. If I indeed am misinformed about Jimmy John's, I will retract my statement.

Agreed, but the ingredients aren't too far behind though... far superior to Subway

sometimes i opt for just a veggie sub with lots of veggies. i guess that's what i like the best (and why I like subway more than ^this guy)

^ You can get extra veggies at JJ. The only difference is you aren't towering over some poor sap who has to assemble your 12 inches of sandwich before your very eyes. You just place your order, receive said order, and go to town on that mug.

Honestly I think most would agree that the quality of the bread/ingredients is better at JJ.

I sometimes feel for the Sandwich Artists... some people bark very specific orders to them in a less than nice way... if someone is making a sandwich for me, i tend to be nice to them.

Submarine Sandwich order of operations:

Firehouse hot subs > Jersey Mike's Cold subs > Jersey Mike's Hot subs > Harris Teeter hot subs > Jimmy John's > Harris Teeter cold subs > a cat turd > a dog turd > Suicide > Subway

I have only ever gotten tuna fish subs at Subway, and they're pretty good. I've heard that everything else is absolutely terrible though...

And for those curious, synapse and I work 16+ miles apart from each other. I would've been pleased with his tip.

I mean, what?

Not enough talk about Penn Station.

Penn Station Italian sub>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything, and I love JJ

I used to work by the one in Mooresville and I ate that sandwich at least once or twice a week. Also, Subway fucking blows.

First residential delivery today.

First delivery to a guy with no pants on today.

But he gave a >50% tip, which is awesome.

He was wearing a bathrobe, so I'm not sure. There was no sign of a shirt though, so I assumed no pants as well.
I'm actually rather envious, he looked warm and cozy, and I'd forgotten my jacket in the shop, so I was in short sleeves in the 35 degree rain on that delivery.
Also, people tip surprisingly well on Sundays... I made more in 5 deliveries than I did two days last week on 8-15 delivery days

On the subject of tipping at Sonic, I would tip the few times I go there but I use a credit card and it doesn't give you the option to add a tip on (at least the ones I have been to). I almost never have cash so I usually just go through the drive through if that is an option.
