interestingly, I have always (well, for as long as I can remember) loved bald guys, and grey (or S&P) hair is suuuuper hot to me.
that said, if you have a huge or oddly shaped head, I can't imagine bald being a great look. but it's better than the combover or huge bald spot on the back that you're desperately trying to ignore.
this is one of the few things I feel bad for guys about...early hair loss, and nothing really to be done about it. a lot of women's physical problems can be fixed (makeup, haircolor, heels, spanx, botox, etc). I know some guys are super confident and hair loss doesn't bother them, but I'm sure for a lot it is really hard to deal with 5/1/2014 4:55:49 PM |

32, and it's definitely going. Hairline has gone back pretty considerably over the past 5 years and got a decent baldspot developing on top in the past year or two. The hair I do have is going gray/white pretty quickly.
I don't give a fuck, I buzz it twice a week with a trimmer with no guard. (haven't bothered shaving it with a blade yet). 5/2/2014 10:39:56 AM |

sry, bro
Sweden you should grow it out, and get a moustache and try to look (more) like a pedophile! I used to think I had a receding hairline, but I guess it just ended up being high naturally, cause it's never gone any further back.

Yep. First noticed grays freshman year of college and it's gotten worse steadily since then. 33 now and the sides may have more gray than brown, whereas the top is still darker but has a considerable amount of gray. Grays are showing up in my beard and my chest hair as well. I'll probably be almost fully gray by 40.
Thankfully the wife claims she likes it that way. I've offered to color it several times in case it bothers her but she declined. (I've come to accept it long ago).5/2/2014 2:15:27 PM |

Mine started to creep back like 8 years ago and hasn't really budged since. I have been shaving it for the past 4 years though and wish I would go bald so I wouldn't have to mess with shaving it anymore. Can't imagine ever having hair again though, having a completely shaved head is so nice. 5/3/2014 7:01:03 PM |

started thinning at about 25. 5 years later, and it still covers my head, but I'm developing a nice bald spot on top. It is really getting noticeable in pictures where the sun is shining, and my scalp reflects it. Doesn't help that I keep a fairly short buzz cut (#3 guard).
The beard is a solid mix of grey, red, and brown. It didn't get the thinning memo, and is as thick as ever. 5/6/2014 11:14:33 AM |

hairline started receding in high school, I've been worried about it a lot, but looking at my high school senior year pic, it really hasn't budged much in the last 10 years. as long as I keep my bangs short it isn't even noticeable. if they get too long, though, you can see where the corners aren't as thick. 5/7/2014 6:34:33 PM |

Mine is thick as ever. Wish the hair around my nads would thin out. gotta shave those things on the regular.
Is there a correlation between the two? 5/7/2014 7:58:59 PM |

Kinda the same here. It's funny - you'd think long hair would conceal baldness - but sometimes it accentuates it.5/12/2014 11:45:33 PM |

^ yeah, but my brother was balding pretty bad in his late 20s, I am 37 (ugh, cant even type that) and I havent lost any hair at all. If anything its in better shape now than right out of high school as I did everything imaginable to my hair back then (was every color you can imagine, most of the time dyed with kool aid and bleach haha) but now its going strong. Also, my metabolism is somehow increasing rapidly here recently... 5/28/2014 10:56:45 AM |

so you probably got the other X chromosome. (I know it's not as simple as that, but it's the main factor) 5/28/2014 11:30:40 AM |

Not entirely true. While the primary baldness gene is on the X chromosome, which men get only from their mothers, other factors are also in play. The hereditary factor is slightly more dominant on the woman's side, but research suggests that men who have a bald father are more likely to develop male pattern baldness than those who don't." |

I just shaved my head with no guard this weekend. I have done it a few times in the past but it was when I was going on vacation and no one else really got to see it. Today was the first day in the office with it. I think I have gotten it tan enough that it isn't so drastic now.
Like others have already said, sometime the hair you do have accentuates your baldness. If I shave it all off it looks more like a choice.
I cut it using a #2 guard for a long time and then started using the #1 guard a year or two ago. Not sure if I will start going with a razor soon or not. 6/2/2014 4:22:28 PM |
